XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S/ GT C 2015-2023

Competitive drifting in a front-mid-engine, rear-drive car like the AMG GT S/GT C means managing a chassis that already wants to rotate the moment the rear loses grip – the M178 twin-turbo V8 sits behind the front axle, and that mass wants to keep swinging once the tail steps out. XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover for the ME54-chassis GT S/GT C is built around that exact problem: stabilising the body through the transition and holding the car at whatever slip angle the driver has chosen, rather than fighting to catch it.

Lowering the ride height is only the visible part. The real work is in how the kit manages bump stroke through that lower stance, so the body stays settled through the entry, the mid-drift correction, and the transition into the next gate, instead of pitching and unsettling the rear end at the exact moment you need it predictable.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2023 Mercedes Benz AMG GT S/GT C

Drop the ride height correctly on a GT S/GT C and you change how weight moves between the front splitter and the rear axle under lift-off and throttle transitions – which is precisely the moment a drift line is made or lost. This kit’s damping and spring rate are set up to keep the rear planted long enough for the driver to load the outside rear tyre, hold it, and then release the slide on command rather than have the chassis snap. Properly controlled bump stroke means the car settles faster after a kerb strike or a rough transition section, so the next input lands on a chassis that’s already composed rather than still recovering from the last one. For a heavy front-mid V8 car, that composure through the corner is what turns a car that merely slides into one that can be steered while sliding.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing designed this range specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a circuit or fast-road kit. The core engineering goal is body stabilisation through high-speed direction changes, so the car holds a controlled angle instead of oscillating as the driver works the throttle and steering. Achieving that angle control relies on getting the lowered ride height paired with a bump stroke that’s tuned for the demands of drift – enough travel to absorb transitions without the chassis pitching, but firm enough that the body doesn’t wallow mid-slide. The result, per XYZ Racing’s own development brief, is drift control brought to what they describe as an excellent standard – the car does what the driver asks of it through the turn rather than requiring constant correction. That’s a different design target from a track-day Sport kit built around minimising roll for outright lap time; here, controlled body movement is a feature, not something to be eliminated.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz AMG GT S/GT C (2015-2023)

This kit is built for the Mercedes Benz AMG GT S/GT C, chassis code ME54, covering the 2015-2023 production run. Confirm your car falls within that model year span before ordering, since coilover geometry is matched to the ME54 platform specifically.

What buyers also search for

  • Mercedes Benz AMG GT S/GT C coilovers set up for competitive drifting rather than road or circuit use.
  • ME54 chassis suspension that keeps the rear composed through sustained slip angle.
  • Mercedes AMG GT drift coilover kit with adjustable ride height and drift-specific bump stroke.
  • Suspension upgrade for AMG GT S/GT C drivers building a dedicated drift car.

Pick your ride height and damping setup for the ME54 platform and build yours below.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
