XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Mazda 3 (BK) (NON MPS) 2003-2009

The first-generation Mazda 3 hatch was Ford C1 underneath, which means a torsion-beam rear and a front MacPherson layout that was tuned for European B-road compliance rather than circuit precision. The Circuit Master is the kit you fit when you’ve decided that compliance is no longer the priority and you want the BK to behave like the chassis the keen press always said it could be.

This is a track-focused kit for the non-MPS car – the 1.6 and 2.0 petrol and the 1.6 diesel – where the standard dampers run out of control long before the tyres run out of grip. The Circuit Master rebuilds the corner from the ground up so the BK can carry pace through a long third-gear sweeper without the nose washing wide or the rear stepping out of phase.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2009 Mazda 3 (BK) (NON MPS)

On a circuit the standard BK rolls onto its outside front, loads up the inner rear, and trail-brakes into understeer. The Circuit Master flattens that load transfer with stiffer linear springs and a damper valved to control them, so the car turns in on the brakes instead of pushing. You feel it most in the second half of a corner – the front bites and the rear follows rather than skating wide. Ride height is adjustable per corner via the lower bracket rather than spring perch, which protects available shock stroke and keeps damping behaviour consistent at your chosen stance. The independent compression and rebound adjustment lets you separate kerb compliance from body control, so a circuit setup can still survive the drive home.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the harder end of the XYZ Racing range, aimed squarely at trackday and time-attack use rather than fast road. Each unit is a monotube damper with a large-bore piston, paired with linear race springs in higher rates than the road-going Super Sport or Street Advanced kits. Damping is adjusted via separate compression and rebound dials, giving you a wide tuning window without compromising one for the other. Pillowball top mounts are used on the front to sharpen steering response and remove the rubber compliance that softens turn-in on the road kits, and the BK fitment retains its OE-style rear mounting so installation stays straightforward.

Fitment for the Mazda 3 (BK) (2003-2009)

This kit is for the BK chassis Mazda 3 in non-MPS specification, covering the 2003 to 2009 model years across the petrol and diesel non-turbo hatch and saloon variants. The MPS turbo car uses a different front-strut and subframe specification and is served by a separate XYZ Racing part number – confirm your car is NOT an MPS before ordering.
