XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Lancia DELTA INTEGRALE (TYPE 2) 1987-1989

Lancia built the original Integrale – the Type 2, wider-arched body that arrived for the 1987 season – specifically to win Group A events on tarmac. The road car that emerged from that homologation programme carried AWD mechanicals and a boosted 2.0 litre four that most contemporary hot hatches couldn’t touch, but the standard suspension was never intended to satisfy a competitor running sealed stages in 2026.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilovers are a direct answer to that. Built from genuine tarmac rally competition experience, they replace the Delta’s road-spec dampers with a setup calibrated to manage uneven stage surfaces, absorb hard compressions over crests and road breaks, and keep the tyres loaded through the power delivery that made this platform famous.

What this coilover does for your 1987-1989 Lancia Delta Integrale (Type 2)

The Delta’s AWD system is at its best when all four tyres are doing genuine work, and that requires consistent contact through surface variation. These Tarmac Rally dampers are developed to absorb the shock of uneven pavement and suppress body movement over significant impacts – on a car with the Integrale’s relatively short wheelbase and front-biased weight distribution, that translates directly into better traction out of tight hairpins. The four-wheel-drive layout that distributed the 2.0 litre turbo’s output so effectively on stage works harder when the suspension beneath it manages compression loads rather than passing them into the body. Stability through faster tarmac sections follows from that same mechanical discipline.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover is built for sealed-stage competition use on surfaces that vary from smooth asphalt to cracked, patched road sections. The damper construction absorbs jolt inputs from significant road breaks and larger bumps whilst maintaining body control, keeping the car on line and the tyres loaded when it matters. Settings throughout this kit derive from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme – not from road-car base tunes scaled up, but from competition-developed calibration applied to the specific demands of sealed stages. The result is a damper that handles the repetitive load cycles of a tarmac stage without progressive fade on longer runs. For a car where the drivetrain’s character depends on the suspension contributing its share of the work, that underlying rigour matters more than headline numbers.

Fitment for the Lancia Delta Integrale (Type 2) (1987-1989)

This kit is specified for the Lancia Delta Integrale Type 2, chassis code LA02, covering the 1987 to 1989 model years – the original wide-arch Integrale before the Evoluzione variants arrived from 1991 onward. Confirm your car falls within this production window before ordering; the later Evoluzione I and Evoluzione II cars use different suspension geometry and are not covered by part number XYZ-COIL-LA02-TR.
