XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Lancia DELTA INTEGRALE (TYPE 1) 1987-1989

The Delta Integrale’s AWD drivetrain was engineered to keep the car planted at rally stage speeds – precisely the opposite of what a drift build demands. Converting that four-wheel traction into controlled angle requires a suspension setup that manages weight transfer while preserving enough geometry travel to sustain a slide rather than snap into an unrecoverable yaw. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover addresses that challenge directly: a coilover developed specifically for competitive drifting, not adapted from a street-oriented kit.

Type 1 Integrales – the 1987 to 1989 cars running the 8-valve 2.0-litre turbocharged engine – are a distinctive and rare drift platform. Their short wheelbase and AWD layout create a reactive, front-to-rear communication that, with the suspension geometry correctly set, can be turned into consistent angle-holding rather than the twitchy character that makes AWD machines difficult to drift in competition trim.

What this coilover does for your 1987-1989 Lancia DELTA INTEGRALE (TYPE 1)

Ride height reduction, done correctly on this chassis, is about preserving bump stroke rather than simply dropping the car. Lower the Integrale with bump stroke properly accounted for and the body stays composed through the high-speed directional changes that competitive drifting demands – the body stabilisation the Drift Spec coilover is specifically built around. AWD drift transitions are particularly sensitive to vertical body movement; containing that movement means the driver focuses on angle entry and exit rather than managing chassis pitch. The result is a more predictable, more consistent platform where it counts.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Drift Spec line with one explicit brief: competitive drifting. The geometry prioritises body stabilisation in high-speed turning, targeting the sustained angle work that circuit and competition drifting requires. Central to the design is the relationship between ride height and bump stroke – reduce ride height correctly and drift controllability improves markedly, bringing the car to what XYZ describe as an excellent drift control condition. This is not a coilover repurposed from another application. The construction was drifting from the outset, with handling balance calibrated for the specific loading patterns that high-speed, high-angle driving places on a chassis.

Fitment for the Lancia DELTA INTEGRALE (TYPE 1) (1987-1989)

This kit is listed to the LA01 chassis code, covering the Delta Integrale Type 1 from 1987 to 1989 – the original Integrale variant with its 8-valve turbocharged engine, before the 16-valve Type 2 update arrived. Confirm your build year and chassis designation against XYZ’s fitment table before ordering.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
