XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Hyundai TUCSON 2004-2009

The first-generation Hyundai Tucson (JM chassis, 2004-2009) is an unlikely circuit weapon – a 1.5-tonne compact SUV with a high centre of gravity, soft factory damping and a tall sidewall calibrated for school runs and B-road comfort. The Circuit Master coilover exists to rewrite all of that. It is the most aggressive damper XYZ Racing builds for this car, aimed squarely at owners who are turning a left-field platform into something that holds a line through a long fast corner.

For sustained lap-time work in an early Tucson, the priorities are body-roll control, predictable weight transfer and a damper that will not fade after twenty hot laps. The Circuit Master is engineered for exactly that envelope.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2009 Hyundai Tucson

Drop the ride height and the Tucson’s centre of gravity comes down with it, which is where the handling transformation starts on a car of this body shape. The Circuit Master’s 9720 individual damping settings – three separate adjustment knobs working together – let you take a vague, top-heavy SUV and give it the kind of flat, planted attitude that lets you commit to a corner without the chassis loading up onto its outside front. Brake response sharpens because the nose stops diving onto the bumpstops under heavy retardation. Turn-in becomes a question of steering input rather than steering input plus a wait for the body to settle. On track you feel the platform get tied down: less heave over kerbs, less wallow on direction change, more usable grip at the contact patch through long-duration loadings.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competitive ladder alongside Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally – the kit reserved for owners who actually take the car onto a circuit and stay there. It is tested by XYZ Racing teams at international venues and has been refined over long-duration development for sustained track use rather than occasional road work. The three-knob adjustment architecture is the centrepiece: independent control over bump and rebound with enough resolution (9720 distinct combinations) to find a window that suits the car, the tyre and the surface. The small oil-passage geometry that gives the damper its precision over fast circuit bumps will produce a faint hydraulic note over large road impacts – this is the nature of the design, not a fault, and is the trade-off you accept for what the damper does on a smooth, sustained track surface.

Fitment for the Hyundai Tucson (2004-2009)

This kit is built for the first-generation Hyundai Tucson, JM chassis, model years 2004 through 2009. It covers the full first-gen production run before the LM second-generation arrived. Confirm chassis code and year before ordering.
