XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford FOCUS MK4 HATCHBACK (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2019-2026

The Ford Focus MK4 hatchback on its multi-link rear is a genuinely capable hot-hatch platform straight out of Halewood, but the factory electronic damping was tuned for a smooth showroom lap, not a sealed Welsh stage at full attack. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover replaces that whole electronic compromise – the included cancellation kit dismisses the ECU’s damping module cleanly – and gives the FO26-C chassis the travel discipline a tarmac stage actually demands.

This is the sharp end of the XYZ range, drawn straight from the brand’s own tarmac rally programme. It is built for sealed-surface competition first, fast B-road second, and it treats the Focus’s long-travel multi-link rear as the asset it is rather than something to lock down.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus MK4 Hatchback

The MK4 Focus has always been a chassis that rewards commitment mid-corner, and the Tarmac Rally setup is built to let you commit harder without the rear stepping out on a mid-corner ridge. Damping is tuned to swallow stage-surface impacts – kerb edges, patched tarmac, drainage humps at the apex – without unloading the contact patch on rebound. You get measurably more front-end bite turning in, a rear axle that stays planted through compressions, and brake stability that does not collapse when the road surface deteriorates. Because the cancellation kit removes the factory electronic damper module entirely, there are no ECU faults, no dash warnings, and no fight between the OE control logic and the new physical damper.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is engineered specifically for sealed-stage rally use, where the damper has to absorb the jolt of a serious mid-corner impact and then settle the body immediately so the tyre returns to load. XYZ’s tarmac rally programme has fed the valving philosophy directly: high enough low-speed control to keep the body flat through fast direction changes, and a fast, progressive high-speed circuit that takes the spike out of a heavy hit without unloading the wheel. The construction is built to withstand repeated full-stroke events that would cook a road-biased monotube. The cancellation kit is the critical piece on this fitment – the MK4’s CCD-style electronic damping cannot simply be unplugged without throwing codes, and this kit handles that side cleanly so the coilover can do its job uninterrupted.

Fitment for the Ford Focus MK4 Hatchback (2019-2026)

This kit is specific to the FO26-C MK4 Focus hatchback fitted with the multi-link rear suspension, covering the full 2019 through 2026 production run. The cancellation kit is included to handle cars originally supplied with the electronic damping system, so the coilover replaces both the mechanical and the electronic side of the OE setup in one fitment.
