XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ford FIESTA ST 2013-2017

The Fiesta ST’s torsion beam rear axle is a known quantity in national rally circles – it keeps weight down and geometry predictable, but it places almost all of the stage-surface compliance work on the front MacPherson legs. On gravel, snow, or silt, where conditions can change within the same corner, that is a demanding brief for any damper. These Gravel Rally coilovers from XYZ Racing are built to that brief directly.

Developed specifically for rally and rallycross use, they replace the standard units with an inverted-tube design and a long-travel setup that keeps the 1.6T EcoBoost Fiesta planted when the stage turns rough – without losing composure in tighter technical sections where the rear axle can’t contribute any independent compliance of its own.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2017 Ford FIESTA ST

The inverted-tube construction lowers unsprung mass at the front strut, which matters on a chassis that works the front axle hard through every direction change. Extended stroke and matched long springs absorb the jarring loads that come from attacking gravel crests at speed – the kind of input that would bottom a standard unit and pitch the car sideways. Spring rates have been validated through rally racing development, calibrated for extreme G-forces in high-speed corners rather than optimised for smooth tarmac. On stage, the car responds to driver input rather than reacting to the surface.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally coilover is an inverted damper design built for conditions where road-oriented suspension falls short – not through component failure, but because its operating range simply isn’t wide enough. The inverted-tube layout stiffens the damper body against lateral flex under combined braking and cornering loads mid-stage, which is where the front struts on a front-wheel-drive car are under maximum stress. Long-travel spring and shock combinations are matched to handle aggressive inputs from high-speed bouncy roads across sandstone, snow, and silt surfaces within the same event. All spring rate settings have been tested through a rally racing development programme, so the specification reflects competition use rather than calculated estimates. The coilover is also suited to rallycross, where compressed mixed-surface events and repeated hard landings from jumps place the hardware under sustained, repeated load.

Fitment for the Ford FIESTA ST (2013-2017)

These coilovers are built for the Mk7 Fiesta ST – chassis code ST – covering the 2013 to 2017 production run. Confirm your build year against the fitment window before ordering; the pre-2013 Mk6 platform is not covered by this specification.

The Gravel Rally specification is a single-purpose setup – if you are building a stage or rallycross car on this platform, configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
