XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW X1 U11 2022-2026

The U11 X1 is a tall, transverse-engined crossover with a high centre of gravity and soft factory damping tuned for school-run compliance – not the load transfer of a sealed-stage tarmac rally. Drop it onto the XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover and the chassis stops fighting itself: body roll is contained, the front axle stays loaded under trail-braking, and the rear actually follows the line you asked it to take.

This is the spec XYZ developed for sealed-stage tarmac work – the discipline where a damper has to absorb a kerb strike at speed and still have something left for the next apex. On a modern crossover platform like the X1 U11, that translates to a car that takes broken B-road tarmac the way it should have from the factory.

What this coilover does for your 2022-2026 Bmw X1 U11

Drop the U11’s centre of gravity, tie down the long-travel factory springs, and the X1 starts behaving like a hatchback rather than a small SUV. Turn-in is sharper because the damper holds the outside front in compression instead of letting it bleed off mid-corner. Across mid-corner bumps – the bit of the road that unsettles a tall, FWD-biased platform – the Tarmac Rally valving absorbs the hit without unloading the contact patch, so the tyre keeps doing useful work.

You’ll also feel it under hard braking into a compression: the front axle stays composed, the nose doesn’t dive into the bump-stops, and you can carry brake deeper before the car runs wide. For drivers using the X1 as a fast-road or sealed-stage weapon, that’s the difference between a competitive run and one cut short by chassis float.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is a discipline-specific damper drawn straight from XYZ Racing’s sealed-stage rally programme. It is built to absorb the impact of broken pavement – the mid-corner pothole, the patched crest, the kerb you couldn’t quite avoid – and damp the resulting body movement before it loads the next compression. The valving is settled around suppressing shock-body oscillation so the tyre stays planted and traction remains usable, which is the whole game on tarmac stages where grip changes metre to metre.

Every base setting on this damper is derived from XYZ’s own tarmac rally racing experience, not a road-coilover spec re-badged for motorsport. That distinction matters: the Tarmac Rally is tuned to keep a heavily-loaded chassis stable when the surface stops cooperating, which is also exactly what a fast-road U11 driver wants on a British B-road in March.

Fitment for the Bmw X1 U11 (2022-2026)

This kit is specified for the U11-generation BMW X1, model years 2022 through 2026. Chassis code U11 covers the third-generation X1 platform, and the damper is supplied to the dimensions and mounting geometry of that specific car. Confirm your registration year falls inside the 2022-2026 window before configuring.
