XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT B7 SEDAN 3C 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2010-2015

The Passat B7’s 4wd drivetrain puts a different load through the corners than the front-drive version – power going to all four wheels changes how the chassis loads mid-corner and how it needs to be controlled on loose or broken surfaces. On stages where the tarmac is patched, cambered or scarred by tractor traffic, a saloon this size needs a damper that keeps the wheel in contact with the road rather than skipping across it. That’s the job of the XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover on this B7.

This is a stage-focused setup, not a fast-road compromise. It’s built to take the hit from a sudden pothole or crest without the body kicking sideways, and to keep the tyre loaded through the transition rather than letting the impact bounce back up through the chassis.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2015 Volkswagen Passat

Fitted to a 2010-2015 Passat B7 4wd saloon, the Tarmac Rally kit’s main job is absorbing the big hits – the mid-corner compressions and crest landings that come with sealed-stage work – without passing that shock straight into the body. Where a road-biased coilover would let a big bump upset the car’s line, this damper is tuned to soak up the impact and keep the tyre working, which on a 4wd chassis this heavy matters more than it would on a lighter, lighter-engined car. The result is a Passat that holds its line under compression instead of skating, with the front axle staying planted through direction changes that would otherwise unload the outside tyre. Because the settings come from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme rather than a generic valve stack, the damping response is matched to the kind of sustained, repeated stage abuse this bodyshell will see, not a single track lap.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ’s Tarmac Rally line is built specifically around one problem: sealed-stage roads are never smooth, and a damper tuned for a billiard-table circuit gets caught out by them. The valving is set to absorb the shock of a big compression – a broken edge, a mid-corner ridge – before it can unsettle the body, and to keep converting that impact into tyre contact rather than into a rebound the driver has to catch. That control is what stops the car skipping across rough sections and lets the tyre keep generating grip through them. Every setting on this kit comes directly out of XYZ’s own tarmac rally experience rather than a road-tuned base map adapted after the fact, and the construction is built to hold that calibration stage after stage rather than drift after a handful of hard hits. On a platform as heavy as the Passat B7, that consistency under repeated big-impact loading is the entire point of the kit.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Passat B7 Sedan (2010-2015)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Passat B7 Sedan, chassis code VO34-2-C, 4wd, φ55 strut diameter, covering model years 2010 to 2015. It’s specified for the version fitted with the cancellation kit for electronic damping, so the electronic damper control on this variant is accounted for in the build rather than worked around.
