XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

The Mk6 Golf R’s factory DCC dampers are calibrated to keep a Haldex-fed 4WD system planted in the wet, not to hold a car sideways through a committed slide. Fitting XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover to this chassis means removing that electronic damping control entirely – this is a cancellation kit, so the OE DCC module and its wiring dependency come out, and mechanical damping takes over completely.

That matters on a 4WD Golf built for drift work, where you need the front axle loading predictably on entry and the rear staying settled once the car’s committed to an angle, rather than a computer hunting between comfort and sport curves mid-corrections. With the electronic layer gone, every adjustment made at the coilover is the adjustment the car actually runs.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Once the DCC cancellation kit is in, ride height and bump stroke are set mechanically, which is what lets this Golf R sit low enough for a proper drift stance without running out of suspension travel over kerbs and transitions. The three external damping knobs give separate control over that stance, so you can firm up the front for sharper turn-in on entry and back off the rear to let the axle move and hold an angle rather than snap back. Because the 55mm strut and the whole damping circuit are now mechanical, there’s no DCC fault code or limp-mode default to fight when you’re mid-slide – what you dial in at the knob is what the car does. For a 4WD platform that’s naturally more planted than a rear-drive car, that manual control is what actually lets you provoke and hold oversteer on demand.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This coilover is built specifically around drift use rather than fast-road comfort or outright circuit lap time. The internal design is aimed at stabilising the car’s body through high-speed direction changes so the chassis holds a clean, consistent angle instead of wandering once it’s sideways. Ride height drops with a corresponding increase in usable bump stroke, and XYZ Racing says that combination is what sharpens drift control over a standard-height setup. Damping runs through three external knobs, each metering oil through a small internal passage – a design that trades some outright silence for finer adjustment resolution, so a faint noise over sharp bumps from oil moving through that passage is expected rather than a fault. XYZ Racing builds this spec around circuit-track surfaces specifically, where that trade-off doesn’t show up in the way it might on a broken B-road.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the 4WD Mk6 Golf R (chassis code VO20-C), 2008 to 2012, running the 55mm strut and the cancellation kit that replaces the car’s electronic damping control with a fully mechanical setup. Confirm your car carries the factory DCC-equipped 4WD platform before ordering, since this spec is built specifically to remove that system rather than work alongside it.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
