XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

Straight-line launches load a front-driven Golf MK6 in a way circuit driving never does: the whole car pitches rearward under power, front tyres unweight, and whatever traction exists at the moment of launch has to be found in a fraction of a second. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the MK6 is built around that single problem rather than around cornering compliance.

This φ55 application is the version matched to the MK6’s modified rear integrated set-up, and it comes with the cancellation kit needed to disable the factory electronic damping so the car runs purely on the new mechanical valving. No conflicting signals from the OEM control module, no compromise between two damping systems fighting for authority over the same corner.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6

The core trick is weight transfer management at launch. By altering how load shifts between the front and rear axles the instant the clutch bites or the transmission loads up, the kit forces more compression into the driven wheels’ contact patch, which is exactly what a MK6 running slicks or drag radials needs to stop wheelspin eating the first 60 feet. Less idle wheel rotation means less wasted time between the light going green and the tyre actually gripping. Stability through that transfer also matters on a car this size and weight – a MK6 that squats evenly and predictably is one that tracks straight rather than walking across the lane under full throttle. The electronic-damping cancellation kit removes the factory system’s tendency to fight the new spring and damper rates, so the chassis behaves the way the coilover is tuned to behave, not the way the ECU thinks a comfort-biased Golf should ride.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing engineered this range specifically for 0-400m drag work across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms, which is a broader remit than a typical circuit coilover because the loads involved are almost entirely longitudinal rather than lateral. The valving is set up to manage that front-to-rear weight shift on demand, pushing additional compression into the transmission’s driven wheels the instant the car is put under load, rather than resisting it the way a track-biased set-up would. That compression reduces how long the tyre spends unloaded and spinning free before it hooks up, which is the difference between a clean launch and a bogged one. The φ55 damper body and the rear-integrated configuration used here are specific to how the MK6’s rear end has been reworked for this fitment, and the cancellation kit is supplied because the factory adaptive damping otherwise overrides the mechanical settings XYZ Racing has built the kit around.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 (2008-2012)

Built for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 chassis code VO19-A-C across the 2008 to 2012 production run, specifically the φ55 modified-rear-integrated configuration. Because this variant assumes a reworked rear end and a disabled electronic damping module, confirm your car matches this exact rear integration before ordering – this is not the standard-rear MK6 coilover.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
