XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Toyota PREMIO ST210 1997-2001

The ST210 Premio left the factory as a soft, comfort-sprung Corona-platform saloon – long on ride compliance, short on the travel control a loose surface demands. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover rebuilds that front strut and rear damper around the opposite priority: keeping a 3S-FE-powered front-driver planted when the road turns to sandstone, silt or snow.

This is a stage-specific kit, not a lowered fast-road setup. Long stroke, long springs and an inverted damper body let the ST210 soak up high-speed bumps and crests while still controlling the body through a rutted corner, where the standard Premio dampers would have run out of travel three impacts ago.

What this coilover kit does for your 1997-2001 Toyota Premio ST210

On gravel, the gain you feel first is travel. The long-stroke design keeps the front wheels in contact over washboard and braking ruts, so the 3S-FE’s drive actually reaches the surface instead of spinning across the tops of the bumps. The inverted tube layout puts the larger-diameter tube at the top of the strut, resisting the bending loads that rocks and ruts throw at a hard-working front strut – the failure point that ends most improvised gravel builds on this platform. Softer, longer springs than a tarmac kit let the Premio’s nose load progressively rather than snapping into understeer, and the extra compliance means you can carry speed over a crest without the car going light and skating wide. Damping valved for loose surfaces holds the body steady through the long, low-grip slides this kind of stage work lives on.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Gravel Rally damper specifically for rally and rallycross, where the surface punishes a shock absorber harder than any other form of competition. The construction is an inverted tube design, chosen so the kit can be set up for the full range of loose conditions the discipline throws at it – sandstone, snow and silt all load the damper differently. Long stroke and long springs are the core of the package: they give the suspension the room to absorb sustained chassis vibration, attack a fast, bouncing road surface, and carry the heavy G-force that builds through a loaded gravel corner. The spring rates are not a catalogue guess – each setting has been tested by XYZ Racing’s rally team, so the figures reflect what actually works on a stage rather than what looks aggressive on paper. It is a damper engineered around impact survival and travel first, with stance a distant afterthought.

Fitment for the Toyota Premio ST210 (1997-2001)

This kit is built for the ST210 chassis Toyota Premio across the 1997 to 2001 production span. It fits the front strut and rear damper locations of the ST210 as supplied – confirm your chassis code reads ST210 before ordering, as the wider T210 Premio range shared body panels across several different chassis designations.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
