XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Toyota CROWN 2008-2012

The 2008-2012 Toyota Crown left the factory as a softly-damped, comfort-biased rear-drive executive saloon – long in the wheelbase, generous in body mass, and tuned to glide rather than attack. Drop that same platform onto a gravel stage and the standard dampers run out of travel almost immediately, the nose dives under braking, and the rear steps wide with nothing to catch it. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Toyota Crown rebuilds the car around the opposite priority: surviving loose, broken ground at speed.

This is a dedicated gravel-stage rally damper, not a lowered fast-road kit pressed into off-tarmac duty. It is built to keep a heavy RWD chassis composed when the surface underneath it is anything but – and to do that repeatedly, not once.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Toyota Crown

The headline gain on the Crown is usable wheel travel. The long-stroke design lets all four corners follow a rutted, washboard surface instead of skipping across it, so the rear axle keeps putting power down where the factory setup would be unloading and spinning. Braking into a loose corner is calmer because the damper controls the Crown’s considerable forward weight transfer rather than letting it pitch onto the nose. Mid-corner, the longer springs soak up the impacts and camber changes that would otherwise unsettle such a large saloon, and the spring rates have been set by a working rally team rather than guessed at a desk. The result is a Crown you can lean on over sandstone, snow or silt without flinching at every compression.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed this damper specifically for Rally Racing and Rally Cross, where the road surface is the most punishing in motorsport and the shock absorber is the single most worked component on the car. The construction uses an inverted tube layout, which puts the larger, stiffer section at the top of the strut to better resist the side loads and bending forces that loose-surface running throws at it. Long stroke and long springs are the defining features: they give the chassis room to absorb vibration, attack high-speed bouncy sections without bottoming, and carry serious lateral G through fast direction changes. The damping is matched to different stage conditions rather than a single tarmac ideal, and every spring rate in the range has been validated by an XYZ Racing rally team in competition.

Fitment for the Toyota Crown (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the Toyota Crown, chassis code TO33, across the 2008 to 2012 model years. It is a full four-corner coilover set matched to that platform. Confirm your exact chassis code and production year against the fitment data before ordering to be certain of the correct application.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
