XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Toyota CROWN 2008-2012

The 2008-2012 Toyota Crown was built to waft – a rear-drive executive saloon with a front-mounted six, a long wheelbase and damping tuned for hushed motorway miles rather than apex precision. On a circuit, that softness turns into roll, dive and a front axle that loads up and washes wide the moment you start leaning on it. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover exists to rewrite that behaviour.

This is the most serious coilover in the XYZ range, the one developed for racing-spec, drift and tarmac-rally use rather than the daily commute. For sustained lap-time work in a heavy rear-drive Crown, it gives you the spring rate and damping authority to keep the body flat and the contact patches working when the car is loaded onto its outside tyres.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Toyota Crown

Fit the Circuit Master to your Crown and the first thing you notice is the slack leaving the chassis. The body roll the factory setup allowed through quick direction changes is reined in, so the nose stops running wide as soon as you ask the front tyres for more grip. Dropping ride height pulls down the Crown’s tall centre of gravity and sharpens turn-in on a car that has never felt eager. With three separate adjustment knobs you can split bump and rebound, firming the damping for circuit sessions or softening it for the road. On a saloon this heavy that control is the difference between brakes and tyres you can use deep into a session, and a front end that cooks itself in three laps.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s flagship circuit damper, aimed squarely at racing-spec, drift-spec and tarmac-rally customers. XYZ’s own race teams around the world have run and developed it, and the headline figure is the breadth of tuning: 9720 distinct adjustment combinations spread across three knobs, enough to find a setting for almost any track, surface or driving style. The three-way layout separates the damping circuits, so high and low-speed behaviour can be tuned independently. One quirk is worth knowing – the adjusters use a small oil-passage design, so over large bumps the oil forced through that narrow port can produce a faint noise. That is normal and expected on a coilover built for the relatively smooth surfaces of a race circuit, where big intrusions are rare. This is a competition damper first, engineered to win rather than to insulate.
