XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Suzuki SWIFT 2005-2010

Point a second-generation Swift at a loose surface and the SZ06 shows why Suzuki built a works rally car out of it. This is a sub-tonne, short-wheelbase front-driver that changes direction the instant you ask, but standard dampers run out of travel and turn harsh the moment the road turns to gravel. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is the part that lets the Swift use its lightness instead of being punished for it.

These are not a lowered fast-road kit pressed into stage duty. The Gravel Rally specification is the loose-surface answer in the XYZ Racing range, built around long-travel damping so the Swift can stay planted over ruts, crests and washboard without skipping the front axle wide.

What these coilovers do for your 2005-2010 Suzuki Swift

The long stroke is the headline change you feel from the first gravel section: the front wheels keep tracking the surface rather than deflecting off it, so the Swift’s eager turn-in finally has grip behind it. Long, softer springs soak up the chassis vibration that batters both car and driver over a rough stage, while still holding the body up under the lateral loads a 2005-2010 Swift generates through a fast, committed corner. Damping is sorted for repeat hits at speed, so a high-frequency, bouncy surface does not overwhelm the shock. The result is a Swift that rotates on the throttle and stays composed when you load it hard, which is exactly what a clubman or junior gravel programme needs.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing develops this damper specifically for rally and rallycross, where the surface is the most aggressive in motorsport and the shock absorber does most of the work. It uses an inverted-tube layout to stand up to mixed loose conditions, from sandstone and silt to snow. The long stroke and long spring are there to absorb constant chassis vibration, to attack a high-speed undulating road, and to carry heavy G-force through the turns rather than packing down and going harsh. Every spring rate in the specification has been set and validated by XYZ Racing’s rally team, not extrapolated from a tarmac kit. That bias toward loose-surface durability and travel is what separates this Gravel Rally coilover from a road-going coilover dropped onto a stage car.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
