XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Subaru LEGACY BC/BF/BJ 1989-1993

The first-generation Legacy was Subaru’s first serious rally homologation car, and its MacPherson strut suspension and full-time all-wheel drive were built to be driven hard rather than coddled. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover takes that BC/BF/BJ platform and rebuilds it around one job: sustained circuit lap-time work in a car that already wants to put power down through all four corners.

This is the firmest, most focused setup in the XYZ range, sitting alongside the Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds. For a Subaru Legacy used on track, where the EJ boxer’s low centre of gravity gives you a balance worth exploiting, the Circuit Master supplies the damping authority to keep that balance under repeated heavy braking and quick direction changes.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1993 Subaru Legacy

On a 1989-1993 Subaru Legacy, the first thing you feel is body control. The Circuit Master’s damping holds the nose flat into a braking zone instead of letting the strut towers load up and wash the front into understeer. With 9720 separate adjustment combinations across its three knobs, you can set compression and rebound independently of ride height, so a car corner-weighted for circuit duty still rotates predictably on turn-in. Firm rates aimed at smooth tarmac let the AWD system find traction on corner exit rather than fighting a soft, pitching chassis. The result is a Legacy that stops shorter, turns sharper and holds a line through long, loaded corners.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s competition-focused damper, developed and tested by the company’s racing teams across international circuits. Its headline feature is the three-knob adjustment system, which opens up 9720 distinct settings of compression and rebound damping so the car can be tuned to a specific track and driving style. That granularity is the whole point of the design: it is built for circuit use, where you want repeatable, fine control rather than a single fixed compromise. One honest note from the engineering side – the adjusters use a small oil passage, so over large bumps the oil moving through that restriction can produce a faint noise. That is normal, a by-product of the fine adjustment range rather than a fault, and a non-issue on the smooth surfaces this kit is designed for.

Fitment for the Subaru Legacy BC/BF/BJ (1989-1993)

This kit is built for the first-generation Subaru Legacy, chassis code SU13, covering the 1989 to 1993 BC saloon, BF wagon and BJ bodies. Confirm your exact chassis code and year against the listing before ordering, as early Legacy suspension hardware changed across the production run.
