XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Seat TOLEDO 1M2 φ50 (Modified Rear Integrated) 1999-2003

The Seat Toledo 1M2 shares its PQ34 bones with the Mk4 Golf, Bora and Octavia, which means underneath the saloon-with-a-boot styling sits a chassis that copes with a fast, broken road better than most people expect. What it doesn’t have from the factory is a damper built to survive a stage rather than a school run. Repeated compression over crests, mid-corner ridges and camber changes at speed is a different job to soaking up a pothole once and forgetting about it, and standard-spec suspension gives up on that job quickly.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the SE25-A-chassis Toledo (1999-2003) is built for exactly that repeated-hit scenario. This is a sealed-stage tool first: the damping is set up to control the car through the kind of compression events a closed tarmac stage throws at a front-driven PQ34 hatch-saloon, not to smooth out a commute.

What this coilover does for your 1999-2003 Seat Toledo

Fitted to the Toledo, the biggest change you’ll feel is how the car deals with a big hit mid-corner – a pothole, a lip, a jump in camber – without the body kicking sideways or the inside tyre unloading. The damper is built to absorb that jolt rather than transmit it straight into the chassis, which keeps the contact patch working instead of skipping. That control shows up as reduced body roll and pitch through a rally-pace corner, and a rear end that stays settled under trail braking into tighter sections rather than stepping out on you. On a chassis that’s front-heavy by design, keeping the rear planted through the transition is most of the battle, and that’s the job this kit is set up to do.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ built the Tarmac Rally line specifically to cope with rough, uneven closed-road surfaces rather than a smooth circuit. The damper is tuned to soak up hard, repeated impacts – big compressions over crests and broken tarmac – without the body kicking or the tyre skipping off the surface, which keeps the contact patch loaded when it matters most. That control is what XYZ frames as vehicle stability: the car staying predictable and settled through a stage rather than darting or wallowing after a hit. The damping settings on this kit come directly from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, carried over rather than adapted from a road or circuit base spec.

Fitment for the Seat Toledo (1999-2003)

This kit is built for the Toledo 1M2, chassis code SE25-A, covering the 1999-2003 model years. The Toledo’s factory rear end uses an integrated spring-and-damper arrangement, and this kit’s rear assembly is modified specifically to mate with that architecture rather than being a generic bolt-in unit.
