XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Seat TOLEDO 1M2 φ50 (Modified Rear Integrated) 1999-2003

The Toledo 1M2’s stock dampers were never built to survive a gravel stage. Compress the front axle over a compression crest at speed and the standard suspension runs out of ideas fast – it’s a torsion-beam-rear family hatch chassis pressed into service well outside its design brief. XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover addresses that mismatch directly, built around a long-stroke, long-spring architecture that’s meant to soak up chassis vibration on broken surfaces rather than transmit it straight into the shell.

This is a rally-specific build, not a road coilover re-badged for gravel. On the SE25-A chassis it replaces a suspension setup that has no business absorbing repeated high-speed compressions on sandstone, snow or silt, and gives the Toledo the stroke length and damper control those surfaces actually demand.

What this coilover does for your 1999-2003 Seat Toledo

Fit this to a 1999-2003 Toledo and the first thing you notice is how much travel is available before the damper runs out of shaft – the long-stroke design is there specifically so a compression crest doesn’t turn into a bottoming-out event. The inverted tube construction is calibrated to cope with different road conditions rather than one fixed surface, which matters on a stage that can shift from silt to sandstone to snow-pack inside a single kilometre. Spring rates are set to bear extreme G-force through direction changes without the rear axle stepping out of line, and the long spring works alongside the extended stroke to keep the tyre loaded on the ground instead of skipping across ruts. On a 4-cylinder torsion-beam platform like the 1M2, that combination is what keeps the rear end tracking straight when the front is already working hard on turn-in.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing designed this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, built around the premise that gravel-stage surfaces are the most aggressive a suspension component will face in competition – which makes the shock absorber the single most stressed part on the car. The inverted tube layout is there to keep the damper working consistently as ground conditions change underneath it, whether that’s sandstone, snow or silt, rather than being tuned for one surface and compromised on the rest. Stroke length and spring length are both extended beyond what a road or track coilover would use, giving the damper room to absorb chassis vibration and repeated high-speed impacts without transmitting them into the body. Every spring rate offered in this range has been set through actual rally racing team testing, not bench simulation, so the rates you’re choosing between reflect what’s held up under competition load rather than a theoretical calculation.

Fitment for the Seat Toledo (1999-2003)

Built for the Seat Toledo 1M2, chassis code SE25-A, across the 1999-2003 production run, in the φ50 configuration with rear mounts modified for integrated fitment. Confirm your Toledo falls within this chassis and year span before ordering, as SE25-A-specific hardware won’t carry over to other Toledo generations.

Spec is set by stage surface and car weight, so take a look at the spring rate options and configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
