XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Seat ALTEA 5P 4WD φ50 2004-2015

The Altea 5P’s 4WD Haldex system puts drive torque through all four corners under load, and that changes how the rear end settles compared with the front-drive version of the same chassis. On a fast-road MPV turned track tool, standard dampers give up the moment the Haldex clutch starts shuffling torque mid-corner, and the body reacts a beat late. The Racing Spec coilover is built to remove that lag.

This is XYZ Racing’s motorsport-grade platform for the Altea 5P 4WD φ50, developed for time-attack and circuit driving rather than road comfort. It replaces the factory spring-and-damper assembly with a φ50 monotube design set up to control the extra unsprung mass and body movement that come with the 4WD driveline, keeping the chassis flatter through direction changes where the Altea’s height and weight distribution would otherwise work against you.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2015 Seat Altea 5P 4WD Φ50

Fit the Racing Spec kit and the first thing you notice on a fast road or track is how much less the nose dives under braking and how much flatter the car sits mid-corner, where the factory setup lets the Altea’s taller body roll and unsettle the 4WD system’s torque split. The φ50 monotube construction resists heat build-up over repeated hard laps, so damping force doesn’t fall away session after session the way a smaller-bore twin-tube unit would. Height-adjustable spring perches let you drop the centre of gravity and correct the rake that comes with the Altea’s factory ride height, which matters more on a 4WD car carrying extra driveline weight over the front axle. Because the damping is derived from circuit development rather than road tuning, response through quick direction changes is more direct, giving you a clearer read on what the front and rear axles are doing independently.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Racing Spec line directly from its involvement in circuit racing, including WTCC competition, so the damping curves in this kit come from actual race-event data rather than a bench estimate. For cars carrying significant factory or aftermarket upgrades – bigger brakes, wider tyres, aero addenda – XYZ Racing can build a custom-specification damper matched to those changes and to the specific circuit the car will run, based on details you supply about the build. The standard Racing Spec unit uses a φ50 monotube body for consistent damping force under sustained heat load, paired with adjustable ride height. It’s built for a car that’s going to be driven hard and repeatedly on a circuit, not a fast-road compromise that happens to cope with a track day. Where a Comfort or Sport-tier product balances daily usability against handling, the Racing Spec strips that compromise out in favour of consistent, race-derived control.

Fitment for the Seat Altea 5P (2004-2015)

This kit is built specifically for the Seat Altea 5P, chassis code SE02, covering model years 2004 to 2015, and is spec’d for the 4WD φ50 variant of the platform. Confirm your Altea is the 4WD version before ordering, since the damper bore and mounting differ from the front-drive 5P.
