XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Seat ALTEA 5P 4WD φ50 2004-2015

Launching a 4WD Altea 5P hard puts the entire drivetrain to work at once, and a soft factory spring rate lets the nose rise and the load shuffle rearward before the front axle can plant. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover is built specifically to control that transfer instead of fighting it.

This is a purpose-built strip setup, not a road coilover pressed into drag duty. On the Altea’s φ50-strut front end, the geometry is tuned to load the drive wheels the instant the clutch or torque converter bites, then hold that platform through the run rather than letting it float.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2015 Seat Altea 5P 4WD Φ50

Off the line, the kit lets you shift static weight between the front and rear axles, which matters on a 4WD platform where all four contact patches need load at once, not just the rears. That shift compresses the drive tyres harder against the strip surface, so the Altea gets a shorter, more predictable window between throttle application and forward bite instead of a beat of wheelspin while the chassis settles. Because that transfer is set mechanically through the coilover rather than left to the factory spring and bushing compliance, the same launch behaviour repeats run to run – useful on a 4WD car where an uneven front-to-rear split shows up as a car that pulls left or right off the line. The stiffer, height-adjustable platform also cuts idle-time wheel movement, so the Altea’s chassis stays settled through the first few metres instead of hunting for grip.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing developed this range specifically for 0-400m drag work across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms, which is why the Altea’s 4WD layout is directly catered for rather than adapted from a circuit product. The core idea is weight-transfer control: the coilover lets you set how much static load moves onto the driven wheels the moment the car launches, which on this 4WD Altea means getting real load into the front axle’s contact patches rather than relying on the rear alone. Forcing that extra compression into the drive tyres reduces the idle spell where the wheel is spinning but the car isn’t yet moving, which is the window that costs a drag car its 60-foot time. The construction is height-adjustable so ride height and the resulting weight bias can be set to match the Altea’s exact ballast and tyre combination, and the damping is set up for repeated full-throttle launches rather than for cornering compliance. It’s a single-purpose product: built for the strip, not for a fast-road commute home afterwards.

Fitment for the Seat Altea 5P (2004-2015)

Built for the Seat Altea 5P, chassis code SE02, across the full 2004 to 2015 production run. This listing covers the 4WD variant with φ50 strut diameter – confirm your Altea’s drivetrain and strut size against these specs before ordering, as the 4WD kit’s weight-transfer geometry differs from a FWD-specific setup.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
