XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Porsche 997 CARRERA-2/S 2005-2011

The 997’s rear-engined architecture places roughly 60 per cent of the car’s weight over the driven wheels, creating a pendulum dynamic that rewards precise suspension calibration and punishes the wrong setup. On a sustained lap-time objective – which is exactly the territory the Circuit Master is built for – that weight distribution is an asset when the damping rates are set up to suit it, and a genuine liability when they’re not.

This fitment covers the Carrera-2 and Carrera-2/S in 997 configuration, spanning the full 2005-2011 production run across both the 997.1 naturally aspirated flat-six and the revised 997.2 direct-injection series.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Porsche 997 CARRERA-2/S

The rear mass of the 997 flat-six means rear damping calibration has a disproportionate influence on how the car rotates under trail braking – stiffen it incorrectly and you fight the chassis into every corner; get the rate right and the weight transfer works for you. The Circuit Master’s 9,720 adjustment combinations allow corner-by-corner fine-tuning in a car where the front and rear axles carry very different responsibilities. Lowering the centre of gravity – which sits naturally high in a rear-engined layout – reduces lateral weight transfer on fast direction changes, bringing a measurable gain in cornering stability at speed. At the front axle, where the 997 Carrera-2 carries significantly lighter loads than a mid or front-engined car of comparable weight, damping adjustments directly shape turn-in response and front-end bite under trail braking.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Sitting at the top of the XYZ Racing coilover range, the Circuit Master is engineered specifically for circuit use and has been validated by XYZ racing teams across international competition categories – Racing Spec, Drift Spec, and Tarmac Rally among them. Three adjustment knobs deliver 9,720 distinct setting combinations, providing the kind of granularity that a single chassis genuinely needs as circuit conditions, ambient temperature, and driver configuration shift across a season. A small oil-passage design within the damper body controls fluid movement through large suspension compressions; on a circuit surface this is entirely appropriate, and the design produces a degree of audible noise under sharp bump loading – a characteristic of how the internals work, not a fault. The Circuit Master is a track tool, and it makes no concessions to daily road use, low-speed compliance, or road-surface imperfections outside a circuit environment.

Fitment for the Porsche 997 CARRERA-2/S (2005-2011)

Chassis code PO04 covers the Porsche 997 Carrera-2 and Carrera-2/S in rear-wheel drive specification, from the start of production in 2005 through to 2011. Both the 997.1 and 997.2 model revisions fall within this fitment. Confirm your variant is the Carrera-2 or Carrera-2/S RWD before ordering – the Carrera-4 and Carrera-4/S all-wheel-drive models require a separate fitment.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
