XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 GT3 RS (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2016-2026

The 991 GT3 RS arrives at tarmac rally with advantages most competitors can only envy: a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six tucked behind the rear axle, a wide-body shell already optimised for aerodynamic grip, and factory suspension geometry developed in close dialogue with Porsche’s own motorsport arm. The difficulty is that PASM was not calibrated for sealed-stage conditions – the system fights the driver on compressions, blind crests, and the patch-worked tarmac typical of road stages where surface character changes without warning.

These Tarmac Rally coilovers replace the 991’s electronically managed damping with a fully mechanical setup, built from XYZ Racing’s active rally development programme. The included cancellation kit addresses PASM deletion directly, eliminating the fault states that follow when passive coilovers are fitted to a live electronic damper system.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2026 Porsche 991 GT3 RS

On a sealed stage, the rear-engine bias of the 991 GT3 RS means front axle behaviour at speed is the variable that determines line confidence – particularly through compressions where the nose lightens. The valve spec here is tuned to absorb large-amplitude inputs, keeping the front end planted where an OEM setup might skip over mid-corner irregularities and break grip. At the rear, where the flat-six’s mass sits, the rebound calibration maintains traction across the rough patches that follow every fast straight. PASM deletion through the cancellation kit removes one layer of electronic intervention, giving the driver a more direct read of what the surface is actually doing.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally specification exists in a different operating envelope from XYZ Racing’s circuit ranges. Road stages carry irregularities a circuit does not: expansion joints through fast sweepers, adverse camber over crests, debris deposited mid-corner between passes. The damper tuning is built specifically to absorb the jolt of large bumps while suppressing body movement – keeping tyre contact consistent rather than allowing the car to skip and re-settle. All settings are derived from active tarmac rally development, which means the balance between bump absorption and rebound speed reflects the demands of stage driving rather than a lap-time optimisation. For the GT3 RS, which carries an already compressed ride height and aggressive roll geometry as standard, the setup leans into managing the rear axle under the compression loads particular to fast tarmac roads.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 GT3 RS (2016-2026)

This kit covers the Porsche 991 GT3 RS across the 2016-2026 production range, under chassis designation PO13-C. It applies specifically to examples built without the factory hydraulic lift system. The PASM cancellation kit is included in the package and handles electronic damper deletion cleanly, preventing the fault conditions that arise when a passive coilover is installed without addressing the live damper control system.
