XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Peugeot 206/ 206 RC 1998-2010

Few platforms carry a more direct connection to loose-surface competition than the Peugeot 206 – this is the chassis on which Peugeot built its dominant WRC programme of the early 2000s, with Marcus Grönholm taking the world rally championship in the 206 WRC. That heritage makes the 206 and its sharper 206 RC variant a natural choice for club rally and rallycross competition to this day.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that brief. This is not a lowering kit repositioned for rough terrain – it is a dedicated loose-surface damper with inverted-tube construction, extended spring and stroke travel, and spring rate specifications developed through actual rally competition rather than adapted from road or circuit use.

What this coilover does for your 1998-2010 Peugeot 206/ 206 RC

With all the drive going through the front axle, the 206’s front suspension bears the full load of every compression, rut and crest on a gravel or rallycross stage. Inverted-tube construction resists the lateral bending forces this generates, keeping steering geometry stable where a conventional damper body would flex under side load. The long stroke and extended spring travel allow the front end to follow surface irregularities rather than deflect off them – maintaining wheel contact through compressions that would bottom out a road or track-day coilover within a single stage. Spring rates have been developed in partnership with rally competition teams, calibrated against the actual loads of stage driving on sandstone, snow and silt, not interpolated from tarmac data.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally series was designed specifically for rally racing and rallycross competition – the vendor describes rallycross as the most demanding road environment in motorsport, given the unpredictable surfaces and the forces generated at competition speed, and the damper specification reflects that. The inverted-tube layout positions the larger-diameter housing uppermost, adding stiffness against side loads without a significant weight penalty. Long springs and long stroke are the defining dimensions of this kit, and they are there for defined reasons: absorbing chassis vibration from high-speed rough terrain, managing aggressive impacts from fast loose surfaces, and handling the extreme G-forces that fast corners on a loose surface produce. Every spring rate in the Gravel Rally range was tested by rally racing teams rather than estimated from other application data, covering the three surface types that a mixed-condition event will present – sandstone, snow and silt.

Fitment for the Peugeot 206/ 206 RC (1998-2010)

This kit is listed for the Peugeot 206 and 206 RC across the full production run from 1998 to 2010, referenced to the RC chassis code. Confirm your exact variant and any competition-spec modifications before ordering to ensure the correct kit for your specific build.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
