XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rear EYE) 1995-1998

The BCNR33 GT-R’s ATTESA E-TS drivetrain was engineered around traction on tarmac – on gravel stages, the platform’s rear-biased torque distribution depends entirely on the suspension’s ability to maintain contact across loose, broken surfaces. Standard travel falls short the moment the road turns rough. The Gravel Rally coilover from XYZ Racing is built specifically for this environment: long-stroke, long-spring construction tuned by a dedicated rally racing team to deal with the surface aggression and chassis loads this kind of competition generates.

Running a BCNR33 in rally cross or stage events means the RB26’s considerable mass is working both with you and against you – the four-wheel drive bites hard, but the car demands a suspension system that can absorb repeated high-speed impacts without losing composure. This unit does that.

What this coilover does for your 1995-1998 Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rr EYE)

The inverted tube design reduces unsprung weight and stiffens the damper assembly – important when the BCNR33 is taking sandstone, snow or silt impacts at speed that a conventional coilover would transmit directly to the chassis. Extended stroke and long springs give the suspension room to absorb compressions that would bottom a standard setup, keeping the tyres in contact with the surface where the ATTESA system can actually do its job. Under hard cornering loads, where the R33 GT-R’s weight transfers aggressively across the axles, the spring rate calibration – developed through real rally racing, not test-track runs – keeps the geometry working correctly. The result is a coilover that manages the surface rather than relaying it to the driver.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally damper was developed with one environment in mind: the most aggressive road conditions in motorsport, where stages combine loose surfaces, compressions and extreme lateral G with a car that may weigh over a tonne. The inverted tube construction stiffens the damper body and lowers unsprung mass compared to a conventional canister design. Long stroke travel paired with extended springs is the defining characteristic – calibrated to handle sandstone, snow and silt without bottoming under the chassis vibration or high-speed impacts that stage rally generates. Spring rate settings have been developed and validated by rally racing teams, meaning the numbers translate to predictable behaviour under competition load. The Gravel Rally sits at the furthest end of XYZ Racing’s coilover line-up: these are not road-biased performance dampers softened for compliance, but a dedicated rally competition unit in which travel, stroke and spring weight take outright priority.

Fitment for the Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rr EYE) (1995-1998)

This kit is built to the NI39-1 chassis specification and covers the four-wheel-drive BCNR33 Skyline across the full production window from 1995 to 1998. The "Rr EYE" designation refers to the rear lower mount configuration on this variant – confirm your car’s rear suspension mount type before ordering, as R33 variants differ. No fitment data beyond the supplied chassis code and year range should be assumed.

The Gravel Rally coilover is a competition-specific unit built around the demands of loose-surface stage work – confirm your chassis configuration and build yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
