XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Nissan PULSAR N14 GTIR 4WD 1990-1995

The Pulsar N14 GTIR’s rally-bred 4WD platform was never built to sit still on smooth tarmac, and the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is the spec that respects that. This is XYZ Racing’s longer-travel damper, built specifically for rally and rallycross use rather than circuit lapping, and it treats the GTIR’s SR20DET-fed chassis to the extended wheel travel that loose, broken surfaces demand.

Where a track-focused coilover chases minimal body roll on grip, this one is tuned to keep the N14’s wheels in contact with whatever is underneath them – gravel, snow, washboard forest stages – without the shocks running out of stroke mid-compression.

What this coilover does for your 1990-1995 Nissan Pulsar N14 GTIR 4WD

Extended front and rear travel gives the GTIR a bigger buffer before the suspension bottoms out over crests, ruts and compressions, which matters far more on a stage than a smoothed-off B-road. The larger internal reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas is the other half of the story: on a long stage or a full rallycross heat, damper oil temperature climbs fast, and a bigger fluid volume delays the point where that heat starts degrading damping consistency. For a car that’s putting drive through all four corners over shifting surfaces, that consistency is what keeps the chassis predictable lap after lap of a stage rather than fading on the second or third run. The 3-way adjustment lets you soften off for snow and loose gravel or firm up for hardpack, without swapping dampers between events.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is built around one job: rally and rallycross, not the circuit. The extended travel front and rear is the headline spec – it’s what lets the GTIR’s suspension absorb a genuinely rough surface without slamming into its bump stops, keeping the car settled rather than getting kicked off line by the next compression. Behind that sits a larger-than-standard charge of suspension oil and nitrogen gas, sized specifically to resist the oil temperature spike that comes from sustained, high-frequency input over loose ground. The 3 adjustment knobs run through a deliberately small oil passage; at speed over big hits you may hear a faint noise as oil moves through that restriction, and that’s the valving doing its job, not a fault. This is a damper made for surfaces where grip is inconsistent and travel is the priority, not one tuned for a polished circuit line.

Fitment for the Nissan Pulsar N14 GTIR 4WD (1990-1995)

Built for the Nissan Pulsar N14 GTIR 4WD, chassis code NI22, covering the 1990 to 1995 production run. This is the turbocharged, four-wheel-drive GTIR variant specifically – confirm your car matches this chassis code and drivetrain before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
