XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS W212 6 CYL 2009-2016

The W212 E-Class carries its six-cylinder engine over the front axle and sends drive to the rear, but the standard suspension and multi-link geometry are calibrated for autobahn cruising, not for holding a controlled slide through a hairpin. Getting a car this size to break traction on command and hold an angle without snapping back means sorting out ride height, roll control and damping before the throttle ever comes into play. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover kit for the 2009-2016 E-Class W212 6 CYL rebuilds that geometry from the ground up for one job: competitive drifting.

Drop the ride height correctly and the E-Class’s weight transfers the way a drift car needs it to, not the way a big three-box saloon usually behaves. This is a kit built around bump stroke and body control specifically, not a general fast-road spring-and-shock upgrade with drift branding tacked on.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2016 Mercedes Benz E CLASS W212 6 CYL

Lowering the W212 correctly with this kit brings the centre of gravity down and shortens the bump stroke, which is what lets you load the rear axle predictably as you initiate a slide rather than have the big saloon’s factory travel absorb and mask your inputs. With the body settled, the multi-link rear stays more consistent under lateral load, so the angle you set with steering and throttle holds through the corner instead of washing out mid-slide. Stiffer, correctly matched damping also cuts the roll that a factory-sprung E-Class carries into a transition, which matters when you’re chaining linked corners and need the car to change direction cleanly between them. The result on track is a car that responds to small throttle and steering corrections instead of requiring big, late inputs to catch a slide that got away from you.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit-focused kit. The core idea is stabilising the body of the car through high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a consistent, controllable angle rather than fighting body movement mid-slide. Getting the ride height down with the correct bump stroke is central to how the kit works: it’s not simply a lower stance for looks, it’s a shorter, better-controlled range of suspension travel that keeps the chassis settled exactly when weight transfer is most extreme. XYZ Racing frames this as sharpening drift control to a genuinely competitive standard, which is the target market for this kit – drivers running the W212 in drift events who need the chassis to behave predictably at the limit, not owners after a lowered stance for the school run.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E CLASS W212 6 CYL (2009-2016)

This kit is built for the Mercedes Benz E-Class W212 chassis, six-cylinder variants, covering the 2009 to 2016 model years. Confirm your car sits within that chassis code and engine configuration before ordering, since suspension geometry differs between the four-cylinder and six-cylinder W212 variants.
