XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz C CLASS W204 8 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2007-2014

The W204 C63’s M156 V8 sits low and well forward of the front axle line, and every time you get back on the throttle mid-drift that mass wants to push the nose straight rather than let the rear step out cleanly. XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec coilover specifically to counter that, giving the driver a chassis that transfers load predictably instead of fighting the car’s own weight bias.

For a car that’s become one of the default RWD drift platforms in the UK scene thanks to the M156’s low-down torque, that predictability matters more than outright grip. This kit is aimed at drivers running the W204 8-cylinder on track days, drift events or sideways car meets who need the chassis to hold an angle rather than snap out of one.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2014 Mercedes Benz C Class

Dropping the ride height on the C Class shifts the roll centre and reduces the weight transfer that catches drivers out when the C63 unloads its inside rear wheel mid-corner. With correctly set bump stroke, the rear axle stays planted through weight transfer instead of hopping, which is what actually lets you hold a drift angle rather than correct for one. The stiffer spring and damper combination also controls the nose-dive that comes with trail braking into a drift entry, keeping the front end settled so your initial rotation is consistent run to run. On a car this heavy at the front, that consistency is the difference between a repeatable entry and constant recorrection on the wheel.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec range is built around one job: stabilising the body of the car through sustained high-speed rotation so the driver can hold a clean, controlled angle rather than chase the car through it. Where a road or track-day coilover is tuned to minimise body movement altogether, this kit is tuned to manage it – controlling how the chassis loads and unloads as the rear steps out, rather than resisting that movement outright. Ride height and bump stroke are set together, because too little stroke robs the rear axle of the travel it needs during a slide, while too much lets the body wallow and lose the angle. The result is a kit built around drift-specific loading rather than a generic stiff-spring approach borrowed from circuit racing.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz C Class W204 (2007-2014)

This kit is built for the W204-generation C Class fitted with the 8-cylinder engine (chassis code ME44), covering the 2007 to 2014 production run, with a modified rear integration for this specific configuration. Confirm your car matches the W204 8 CYL fitment before ordering, as spring rates and mounting points are set for this chassis and engine combination.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
