The BF-generation 323 is a featherweight front-driver from an era when Mazda’s chassis engineers cared more about steering feel than isolation, and that makes it one of the more rewarding small hatches to set up properly. Forty years on, the factory struts are long past their useful life, and bushings, top mounts and damper valving have all aged out of any meaningful relationship with the road. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover for the Mazda 323 (BF) 2WD is the kit that puts a modern adjustable damper under a chassis that was originally built around passive struts.
Circuit Master sits at the track-biased end of the XYZ Racing range. For a light, short-wheelbase hatch like the BF, that means firm body control without the harshness of a one-piece race damper, with enough adjustment to keep the car balanced as tyres, ride heights and surfaces change through a weekend.
What this coilover does for your 1987-1989 Mazda 323 (BF) 2WD
The BF’s biggest dynamic limitation in standard trim is roll and pitch on its soft factory springs – the front loads up under brakes, the back goes light, and the car runs out of damper travel long before it runs out of grip. The Circuit Master kit replaces that with a monotube damper and matched spring rate that flattens the chassis under load and lets the front tyres do their job into the apex. Independent height adjustment lets you drop the car enough to bring the roll centres back into a sensible window without compromising bump travel, which is the trap most static lowering springs fall into on this chassis. Multi-way damping means you can run a softer compression setting for rough British B-roads and stiffen things up for a smoother circuit surface. The result is a 323 that turns in cleanly, settles mid-corner instead of riding the bump-stops, and finally rewards the kind of trail-braking the chassis has always been geometrically willing to do.
About the Circuit Master coilover
Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s track-day-focused full coilover platform, built around a monotube damper body with separately adjustable ride height and damping. The monotube layout gives a larger piston area and better heat dissipation than the twin-tube struts the BF left the factory with, which matters on a small car that loads its dampers hard and gives them very little time to cool. Spring rates are matched to the chassis weight and intended use rather than carried over from a generic catalogue, and the kit ships with pillowball top mounts where applicable to remove the compliance that rubber mounts introduce into steering response. Multi-way damping adjustment lets the same kit cover fast-road compliance and circuit stiffness without changing hardware. Construction is finished for corrosion resistance, which is non-negotiable on a chassis that spends its life in UK salt and rain.
Fitment for the Mazda 323 (BF) 2WD (1987-1989)
This kit is built specifically for the BF-chassis Mazda 323 in front-wheel-drive form, covering model years 1987 to 1989. The 4WD turbo BF Familia GT-X uses a different rear subframe and is not covered by this part number. Confirm your chassis code on the VIN plate before ordering.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
