XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Maserati GHIBLI M157 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2013-2026

The M157 Ghibli was sold on the promise of Skyhook adaptive damping doing the thinking for you, and for the first few years it does. Once the electronic dampers age out – and on a 2013-on saloon many now have – the bill from Modena to refresh them in OE form is the kind of number that pushes owners towards selling the car. The Super Sport coilover with cancellation kit is the way back in: a full mechanical suspension under a chassis that was never going to be light, with the CAN-bus side put to sleep so the dash stops nagging.

This is the fast-road and occasional-track spec for a heavy rear-drive (or Q4) executive saloon that wants its weight transfer managed rather than masked. The Ghibli has long wheelbase, soft factory bushings and a front end that floats once you load it – the Super Sport gives you the rate and damping authority to settle it without turning the cabin into a Cup car.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2026 Maserati Ghibli M157

Spring rates and 30-way bump/rebound adjustment let you take the wallow out of the front axle on turn-in without losing the long-travel ride the Ghibli relies on over British B-roads. The cancellation kit is the part most owners are really buying – it removes the Skyhook fault codes the ECU throws the moment you unplug the OE struts, so the suspension warning light stays off and the car drives normally. Ride height is adjustable independently of spring preload, so you can drop the nose to close the arch gap without pre-loading the spring and ruining the damping. On the Q4 cars the extra front-axle mass shows up as understeer on trailing throttle; stiffer front rates and slower rebound let you carry more speed to the apex without the nose washing wide. Brake dive under hard stops from motorway speeds is visibly reduced.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport is XYZ Racing’s fast-road-biased monotube damper, built around a 30-step adjuster that controls bump and rebound on a single knob – useful on a car this heavy where wholesale damping changes matter more than separate low- and high-speed circuits. Bodies are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminium with hard-anodised threads that survive UK winter salt, and the pillowball top mounts on the front struts replace the rubber OE mounts to sharpen steering response. The shock pistons run inverted at the front where space allows, which puts the seal lower in the body and keeps damping consistent when the oil heats up on a long fast road run. Spring rates are matched to the Ghibli’s kerb weight rather than borrowed from a lighter saloon, which is the usual failure mode of cheaper universal kits on this chassis. The cancellation kit ships in the box and plugs into the OE Skyhook harness at each corner.

Fitment for the Maserati GHIBLI M157 (2013-2026)

Fits chassis code MS01-C, the M157 Ghibli built from 2013 through to current production, supplied with the Skyhook cancellation kit pre-paired for this fitment. Covers RWD and Q4 four-wheel-drive variants on the standard adaptive suspension. Confirm your car is on Skyhook before ordering – non-adaptive cars take a different part number.
