XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Land Rover DEFENDER 110 (L663) 2020-2026

The L663 Defender 110 arrives at any competitive event carrying a fundamental challenge: weight. Among the heaviest vehicles that owners push through time-attack or track-day competition, the 110 asks more of its suspension than almost anything else on the startline – yet the MLA platform underneath is stiffer and more dynamically capable than anything the old ladder-frame Defenders could offer. The Racing Spec coilover is built to extract what that structure is genuinely capable of.

XYZ Racing developed this kit’s base calibration through direct participation in WTCC competition. The Defender 110 is not a touring car, but the engineering discipline is identical: damping curves that hold their calibration under sustained load, repeatable session after session. For a two-tonne SUV being driven seriously, that competition methodology matters more than it would for a lighter platform.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Land Rover DEFENDER 110 (L663)

Body roll and weight transfer are the primary handling variables on the L663, and the Racing Spec addresses both with competition-calibrated spring rates and damping that work with the chassis rather than simply stiffening it. The lower ride height reduces the centre of gravity meaningfully, improving cornering balance on a vehicle whose tall bodyshell is an aerodynamic liability at speed. Braking stability improves in step – less nose pitch under hard braking lets the front axle do its work more consistently through repeated stops. Where an OEM damper or a budget aftermarket unit will fade under sustained hard use, the Racing Spec’s construction is built to maintain its characteristics.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s dedicated competition application, developed and refined through the brand’s direct involvement in WTCC events. That programme provides damping curves and spring rate combinations tested under genuine race conditions before being adapted to each specific vehicle – it is not a road unit with a stiffer spring and a different part number. For the L663 Defender 110, the shock absorber is calibrated around the demands of competitive driving with all of that mass in motion. A further option exists for builds that have moved significantly beyond standard specification: owners running aggressive mechanical upgrades – uprated brakes, roll cage installations, or other competition modifications associated with A-class or factory-level preparation – can provide details of their upgrades and intended circuits, and XYZ Racing will build a bespoke shock absorber to those exact parameters. That custom-specification route is directly relevant for Defenders being prepared for dedicated one-make or endurance competition.
