XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Lancia DELTA EVOLUZIONE 1990-1995

The Delta Evoluzione is one of the few road cars that was genuinely born as a rally weapon and backfilled into something resembling daily-driver specification. Lancia built the minimum Group A homologation numbers, fitted wide arches over a Torsen-equipped 4WD drivetrain, dropped in the 2.0-litre 16v turbo, and proceeded to rewrite the WRC record books across five seasons. Survivors are still being campaigned on gravel stages across Europe today – and the factory suspension travel, tuned for road compliance, is almost always the first thing that needs to change.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilovers for the Lancia Delta Evoluzione address that brief directly. Inverted-tube dampers with long stroke and extended springs replace the road setup with hardware validated under real competition loads, giving the LA03 chassis the range of motion that loose surfaces demand.

What this coilover does for your 1990-1995 Lancia Delta Evoluzione

Travel is the primary gain. The Delta Evo’s Torsen differentials distribute torque front and rear with impressive efficiency, but that system only works when all four wheels are in meaningful contact with the surface. On fast gravel stages, a standard damper runs out of travel at precisely the wrong moments – cresting into a compression, clipping a rut at pace. The extended stroke of the Gravel Rally unit keeps the suspension working through those events rather than bottoming out and snapping the car’s attitude. The inverted damper architecture places the larger sealed body at the top of the assembly, protecting the internals from grit, silt, and debris ingress over the extended mileage of a multi-day event.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally platform is a dedicated loose-surface competition build, architecturally distinct from the company’s tarmac range in two key respects: the inverted monotube damper design and the extended spring-and-stroke combination. Where a conventional strut places the damper body downward – exposing the sliding shaft to mud, stone chips, and compacted silt – the inverted layout keeps the larger sealed section at the top and the narrower shaft protected inside. Spring rates across the range have been tested by rally teams under competition conditions across sandstone, compacted snow, and silt surfaces – the three conditions that generate the most varied load signatures for a suspension kit. The long-spring setup is engineered to absorb chassis vibration and extreme G-force loading through high-speed bouncy roads and aggressive mid-corner compressions, where a road-specification unit would be entirely overwhelmed.

Fitment for the Lancia Delta Evoluzione (1990-1995)

This kit is built to the LA03 chassis specification, covering the Delta Evoluzione as produced between 1990 and 1995 with its turbocharged 2.0-litre 4WD drivetrain in both Evo I and Evo II forms. Verify your chassis code against the door-pillar plate before ordering – the pre-Evoluzione HF Integrale uses different mounting geometry and is not covered by this fitment.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
