XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Honda CITY GM2/GM3 2007-2013

The GM2/GM3 City is a light, narrow-track saloon riding on a torsion-beam rear and a McPherson strut front – a chassis that was set up at the factory for ride compliance over a Bangkok pothole, not for sustained heat into a fast right-hander. Drop a Circuit Master under it and the conversation changes: this is the XYZ Racing top-shelf circuit damper, built for repeat-lap work where the OEM struts would already be fading by the third flying lap.

For circuit work in a sub-1100kg front-drive saloon like the HN26 City, the priority is keeping the loaded front wheel planted while the unloaded inside rear stays settled enough to put power down out of the apex. The Circuit Master is the spec XYZ Racing puts under cars chasing lap times, not the one they sell for fast-road duty.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2013 Honda CITY GM2/GM3

On the GM2/GM3 platform the immediate gain is body control: the nose stops pitching under heavy braking into a hairpin, which means the front tyres aren’t washing wide while you’re still trail-braking. The 3-knob layout lets you separate bump from rebound and adjust them independently, so you can stiffen the rebound to control the rear lift the City suffers under lift-off without making the bump side punishingly hard over kerbs. Across the 9720 possible damping combinations there’s enough resolution to chase a specific circuit’s surface, then walk the settings back for the next round. The trade-off is honest – the small-orifice damper passages can give a faint hydraulic noise over sharp road bumps, which is by design and not a fault.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s competition-tier damper, sitting in the same family as their Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds. It runs three independent adjustment knobs – high-speed bump, low-speed bump, and rebound – which between them give 9720 discrete damping combinations, which is the number XYZ quote and which is enough to map the damper to almost any circuit surface. The unit has been developed and signed off through XYZ’s own race programmes at international circuits, and the brief was sustained track use rather than dual-purpose road work. The small oil-passage design that makes the high-frequency control possible is also why owners occasionally report a faint noise when the coilover is rolled over sharp street bumps – on a smooth circuit surface, which is where this damper is intended to live, it stays silent. It is a focused circuit tool, not a fast-road coilover with a track mode bolted on.

Fitment for the Honda CITY GM2/GM3 (2007-2013)

This kit is built specifically for the HN26-generation Honda City saloon – the GM2 and GM3 chassis codes – covering the 2007 through 2013 model years. Confirm your VIN or V5 lists the GM2 or GM3 code before configuring; the earlier GD City and the later GM6 use different strut geometry and are not covered by this part number.
