The Ford Liata is one of the more obscure mid-90s saloons you’ll find on a UK circuit grid – a rebadged Mazda 323-derived platform that shares far more with its Hiroshima cousin than with anything wearing a blue oval in Europe. That parentage matters here, because the FO11 platform responds to suspension work the way a light Japanese chassis does: it rewards stiffer rates, tighter damping control, and a willingness to commit on turn-in. A standard car rolls into corners and washes wide on power; the right coilover transforms what the chassis is actually capable of.
The XYZ Racing Circuit Master is the top-tier track weapon in the XYZ range, sitting above Top Sport and Super Sport for one reason – sustained lap-time work. If you’ve taken a Liata to a track day and come back wanting more, this is the answer.
What this coilover does for your 1994-1998 Ford Liata
The Circuit Master is built for the moment a Liata’s chassis goes past its road-spec limits. With 9720 individual adjustment combinations across compression, rebound, and a third corner-specific damping circuit, you can set the car up for a tight technical layout like Cadwell and then re-tune it for Snetterton’s longer high-speed corners without changing a spring. On a chassis as light as the Liata, that range of authority is the difference between a car that gives up after three flying laps and one that holds its lap time as the tyres heat-cycle.
Front-end response sharpens immediately. The flat, controlled platform under braking lets you carry trail-brake deeper into apex without the front washing out, and the rear stays planted under power-down. Expect a stiffer ride – that’s the trade-off – but everything the chassis does becomes legible through the wheel.
About the Circuit Master coilover
This is XYZ Racing’s competition-spec damper, sitting in the same family as the Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds. Three external adjustment knobs control independent damping circuits, which is the source of the 9720-position adjustment matrix – far beyond the 32 or 36-click ranges typical of fast-road kit. The damper has been developed and validated by XYZ race teams on circuits worldwide, and the suspension geometry, valving and spring rates are calibrated for tarmac competition rather than B-road compromise.
One characteristic worth flagging up front: the third adjustment circuit uses a small-orifice oil passage, and over sharp road-going bumps you may hear a faint hydraulic note as fluid moves through it. That’s normal and a function of the racing-grade internal design – the unit is purpose-tuned for circuit surfaces where bump frequency is predictable and managed.
Fitment for the Ford Liata (1994-1998)
This kit is built specifically for the Ford Liata FO11 chassis across the full 1994 to 1998 production run. Confirm your chassis code matches FO11 before ordering, and the kit will bolt to OE mounting points front and rear.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
