XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Ferrari 488 GTB (without hydraulic lift system) 2016-2026

The 488 GTB is the last of the turbocharged mid-engined V8 Ferraris before the hybrid SF90 era rewrote the brief, and the cars that survive on UK circuits are the ones being run hard rather than wrapped and stored. The Racing Spec coilover targets that owner specifically – a 488 stripped of the OE magnetorheological dampers and the factory comfort brief, set up to take Donington’s Craner Curves or Spa’s Eau Rouge at the speeds the chassis was always capable of but the road-biased standard suspension quietly resisted.

This is the FE03-1 fitment for cars without the front-axle hydraulic lift system, which simplifies the install and frees the front geometry to be set up properly for circuit ride heights without nose-cone clearance compromises.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2026 Ferrari 488 GTB

The standard 488’s adaptive magnetic dampers are remarkable on the road and capable on track, but they were tuned around a window of behaviour Ferrari’s engineers thought a customer would want. Racing Spec throws that window away. You get a fixed mechanical damper with the kerb tolerance, body control, and reload speed needed for sustained track running – the kind of behaviour where the rear axle stays planted under power out of a long third-gear corner instead of going light as the dampers run out of low-speed compression authority. Spring rates and damping have been derived from circuit work, so the platform behaves predictably under trail-braking and stays flat enough through fast direction changes to keep the rear-mid V8’s weight working with you instead of pendulum-swinging through transitions.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec damper is built specifically for circuit use, with every setting derived from XYZ’s direct participation in series including the WTCC. That race-bench origin matters: the valving and spring rates aren’t theoretical, they came out of real session data from cars being driven on the limit. For 488 owners running heavily upgraded cars – aero kits, slick tyres, A-class race-car spec – XYZ offers custom-made shock absorbers built around the specific build sheet and the specific circuits the car will run. You supply the parts list and the venues; they build dampers to match. That is a level of bespoke that simply doesn’t exist in off-the-shelf coilover catalogues, and for a Ferrari being campaigned seriously it is the difference between a fast lap and a repeatable one.

Fitment for the Ferrari 488 GTB (2016-2026)

This kit is FE03-1, the chassis code for the 488 GTB built without the front-axle hydraulic lift system. The lift-equipped cars use a different front fitment and should be specified accordingly. Year span covers 2016 through 2026 production.

If your 488 is going to see real circuit work and the OE dampers are no longer keeping up, configure your Racing Spec kit below – and if your car is heavily modified, flag it during the order so the custom-spec route can be quoted.

Racing Spec damper is specially made for track race, and all settings have been obtained from direct participation in racing event such as WTCC. In some circumstances, particular custom-made shock absorbers are available for those cars that have aggressive upgrades like factory’s racing vehicles or A-class racing cars etc…You may provide us with detailed info on all upgraded parts in your car and what circuit you will run, and we are able to make custom shock absorbers for your personal car.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
