XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider (with hydraulic lift, excl.control system) 2010-2015

The Ferrari 458’s mid-engined balance and 4.5-litre flat-plane V8 were never built with sideways exits in mind, which is exactly why running one in competition drift takes a suspension package that respects the chassis as much as it rewrites it. The factory magnetorheological setup is brilliant for road and circuit, but it was never asked to hold a 60-degree angle on full opposite lock with the rear axle loaded against a kerb.

The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built for that specific job on the F142 chassis 458 and 458 Spider running the hydraulic lift system. It replaces the OE damper hardware with a fully adjustable platform that lets you set the car low enough to work the geometry properly, while still giving the rear end the stroke it needs to put power down mid-transition.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2015 Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider

The first thing you feel is body control. The Drift Spec damping is tuned to keep the 458’s mass settled when the car is pitched in hard and the throttle is buried, so the rear doesn’t snap loose in a way you can’t catch. Lowering the ride height tightens the roll centres and drops the centre of gravity, which on a mid-engined car with the polar moment of the 458 translates directly into faster, more predictable initiation. Adjustable spring perches let you corner-weight the car so the loaded outside rear stays planted when you commit to angle, and the controlled bump stroke prevents the chassis crashing into its bump stops when you ride a kerb apex.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is purpose-engineered by XYZ Racing for competitive drifting, not adapted from a circuit kit. The dampers are tuned to stabilise the body during high-speed transitions so the driver can hold a clean, deliberate angle rather than fight a chassis that wants to straighten. Spring rates and damping curves are matched to the geometry shift you get from running the car significantly lower than stock, and the bump stroke is set so that even an aggressive drop still leaves usable suspension travel for kerb strikes and surface changes. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke retained, the controllability through the transition gets noticeably sharper – the rear loads progressively rather than abruptly, and clutch-kicks translate into angle instead of wheelspin chaos. It is a focused tool, built around what drift drivers actually do to a car.

Fitment for the Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider (2010-2015)

This kit is specified for the F142 chassis Ferrari 458 and 458 Spider, 2010 to 2015, fitted with the factory hydraulic nose-lift system (control system excluded). Confirm your car has the hydraulic lift hardware before ordering, as the bracketry and clearances are spec’d around that variant.

What buyers also search for

  • Ferrari 458 coilover conversion for competitive drift use
  • 458 Spider suspension upgrade that retains usable bump stroke at low ride height
  • Drift Spec coilovers for mid-engined V8 platforms

Pick your spring rates and ride-height spec in the configurator below to build the Drift Spec kit to your 458’s intended use.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
