XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW X5 E70 4WD (NON AIR STRUT) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2013

The E70 X5 is not the chassis most people picture sliding sideways, and that is precisely why a drift-built one turns heads at every event it shows up to. Two-and-a-bit tonnes of 4WD SUV with a long wheelbase needs suspension that can hold the body flat through a transition that would unload a lesser setup completely. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover for the BMW X5 E70 2007-2013 is built for exactly that brief – keeping a heavy 4WD platform composed at angle, at speed, and at lock.

This kit also includes the cancellation hardware for the factory electronic damping system, so the conversion from the E70’s stock EDC struts to a fully mechanical, height-and-damping-adjustable setup is clean. No dashboard error, no compromise from leaving the original air or electronic components fighting against the new dampers.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2013 Bmw X5 E70 4WD (NON AIR STRUT) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Drop the E70’s ride height with the bump stroke kept in a sensible window and the whole car wakes up. The Drift Spec valving is built to stabilise the body during high-speed turn-in – the moment a heavy SUV wants to lean, push, and run wide – and instead hold the chassis where the driver is asking it to sit. That stability is what lets you commit to angle without the rear walking away on you.

Lowering this generation of X5 also recovers a chunk of the visual mass the factory ride height creates, while the height adjustability means you can run a more aggressive stance for events and lift it back for the drive home. The full damping adjustment lets the front and rear be tuned independently, which matters on a long-wheelbase 4WD where front-rear balance is doing the real work of holding a slide.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s purpose-designed competition drift platform. The valving philosophy is specifically targeted at stabilising vehicle body movement during high-speed cornering so the driver can hold a clean, committed angle through transitions rather than fighting the chassis. It is engineered to enhance drifting performance once ride height is lowered and the bump stroke is set correctly, which is when the geometry and damping start working together as XYZ intended.

Construction follows the same coilover architecture as the rest of the XYZ catalogue – height-adjustable lower mount, full damping adjustment, and a spring-and-damper assembly built around the chassis it is cut for. On a platform as heavy as the E70, spring rate selection and damping calibration are doing serious work, which is why the Drift Spec is sold as a chassis-specific kit rather than a universal fit. The included EDC cancellation hardware bypasses the factory electronic damping loop entirely, so the car runs on the new coilover’s logic without throwing faults.

Fitment for the Bmw X5 (2007-2013)

This kit fits the E70-generation BMW X5 4WD with non-air-strut suspension, chassis reference BM69-1-1-C, model years 2007 to 2013. It includes the cancellation kit required for cars originally fitted with the electronic damping control system. Before ordering, confirm your car is the non-air-strut version – the air-suspension E70 takes a different kit entirely.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
