XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES F01/F02 2008-2015

The F01/F02 7 Series is a 1,900kg luxury barge with air suspension or self-levelling dampers from the factory – hardware engineered to insulate, not to attack. Putting a Racing Spec coilover under one is a deliberate act: you have decided the long-wheelbase chassis, the N63/N74 V8 or the straight-six diesel mass over the front axle, and the inherent body roll of a flagship saloon are problems worth solving with track-grade damping rather than comfort-grade compromise.

This is the most focused coilover XYZ Racing builds, and on an F01/F02 it changes the character of the car completely. The platform’s long wheelbase actually rewards a properly valved damper – once you remove the factory float, the chassis tracks with a composure that surprises drivers used to E-Series M cars.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2015 Bmw 7 Series F01/F02

Spring rates and damping force are set for circuit work, not motorway refinement, so expect the car to sit flat through fast direction changes that previously had the body taking a moment to catch up. Turn-in sharpens dramatically with weight transfer happening at the tyre rather than through 100mm of suspension travel. Under heavy braking from three-figure speeds, the nose stays level and the front Michelins or Pirellis stay loaded – critical on a car that carries this much mass into a braking zone. Mid-corner, the rear axle stops squatting under throttle and the long wheelbase starts working with you, planting drive cleanly out of slow corners.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec damper is built specifically for track race work, with valving and spring rates derived directly from XYZ’s competition programme – settings obtained from active participation in series such as the WTCC. This is not a road coilover with stiffer springs; it is a circuit-spec unit with the construction and damper internals to match. For owners running aggressive supporting modifications – bigger brakes, stickier rubber, aero, lightweight wheels – XYZ also build genuinely bespoke versions of this damper. Submit details of the car’s spec and the circuits you intend to run, and the shock absorbers can be valved to suit factory-style racing cars or A-class race builds. That bespoke route puts this coilover in a different category to anything else at this price point.

Fitment for the Bmw 7 Series (F01/F02, 2008-2015)

This kit is built specifically for the F01 short-wheelbase and F02 long-wheelbase 7 Series, chassis code BM123, covering the 2008 to 2015 production run. The application accounts for the factory air-suspension hardware that this kit replaces. Confirm your exact variant during configuration.
