XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES E66 6 CYL 2001-2008

The E66 is BMW’s long-wheelbase 7 Series, a saloon built to feel weightless at 90mph in a straight line, not to hold a sustained slide through a hairpin. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover kit exists for that exact mismatch, giving 730i and 735i owners a platform that can genuinely control its mass once the rear axle steps out, rather than just carrying it.

Where the factory self-levelling rear suspension on these cars is tuned to keep the body flat and the ride predictable, this kit is built to do the opposite on purpose. It lets you set the car up to move under load, then gives you the adjustment range to hold that movement at a repeatable angle through a full lap rather than a lucky one-off.

What this coilover does for your 2001-2008 Bmw 7 Series E66 6 CYL

Fit this kit and the first thing you notice is how much more of the E66’s substantial kerb weight you can actually manage mid-corner. The long wheelbase that makes this car settled on a motorway also means weight transfers slowly and heavily once the rear lets go, and this coilover’s damping is set up to control that transfer rather than fight it, so the car settles into an angle instead of snapping through one. Three external adjustment knobs per corner let you tune compression and rebound independently, so entry, mid-slide, and catch can each get their own setting instead of a single compromise. Dropping the ride height within the kit’s bump stroke also lowers the roll centre, which on a car this long and this heavy makes a real difference to how readily the rear will step out on command. It’s also one less job for the factory self-levelling suspension components that six-cylinder E66s are known to wear out over time.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec line around one job: keeping a car composed while its body is pointed sideways to the direction of travel. The valving resists the roll and pitch that would otherwise unsettle the rear axle mid-slide, so the car holds whatever angle you’ve committed to instead of wandering off it. Each corner carries three external adjustment knobs, giving you independent control over compression and rebound to match a given circuit or driving style. Internally, the damping oil is routed through a deliberately narrow passage rather than a larger, free-flowing one, which is what gives the kit its fine, low-speed control; the trade-off is a faint tick or click from the dampers over sharp bumps, a normal by-product of the small-passage design rather than a fault. Ride height is fully adjustable across the kit’s bump stroke, so once it’s set correctly you get the drop in body roll needed to make the drift angle repeatable, lap after entry, rather than a one-time event.

Fitment for the Bmw 7 Series E66 6 CYL (2001-2008)

This kit is specced for the long-wheelbase E66 chassis carrying the straight-six engines, covering 730i and 735i models built between 2001 and 2008, listed under our fitment reference BM51. Confirm your exact model and build year against your V5 before ordering, since the shorter E65 and the eight- and twelve-cylinder variants use different mounting points and spring rates.

A long-wheelbase luxury saloon isn’t the obvious drift car, but with the right damping underneath it, the E66’s size and weight work in its favour once it’s sideways. Configure your Pro Racing Drift Spec kit for the 730i or 735i below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear
