XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 6 SERIES E63 / E64 M6 2004-2010

The E63/E64 M6 carries its 5.0-litre S85 V10 well forward of the front axle, and that mass is exactly what a soft GT damper struggles to control once you start leaning on it. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6 brings long-travel, high-capacity damping to a car that has always asked for more body control than its factory setup delivered.

This sits at the top of the XYZ Racing range, built around extended oil and nitrogen volume and three-way adjustment. The Gravel/Snow lineage comes from rally and rallycross, where long suspension travel and fade resistance matter more than outright stiffness – traits that carry directly across to a 1.8-tonne coupe or convertible being worked hard on circuit.

What these coilovers do for your 2004-2010 BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6

The first thing you feel is body control: the M6’s nose stops diving under braking and the rear settles faster on corner exit, so the V10’s 8,250rpm reach finally arrives with a chassis that can use it. The extra suspension travel keeps the tyres planted over kerbs and broken surfaces rather than skipping, which matters on a heavy E64 convertible that can feel loose mid-corner. Three-way damping adjustment lets you separate ride from response, softening the car for a road drive and firming it for a track day without touching ride height. The enlarged oil and nitrogen capacity is the part you feel late in a session – damping that holds its character after repeated hard laps instead of going greasy as the fluid heats.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover started life as a rally and rallycross damper, which is why it runs noticeably longer travel front and rear than a conventional fast-road kit. That extra travel builds in a larger buffer before the suspension runs out of movement, keeping the car stable when the surface or the kerb is bigger than expected. XYZ Racing increases the volume of both damper oil and nitrogen gas inside each unit, and that reserve is what stops the shock fluid overheating and fading after sustained, repeated use. Control comes from three adjustment knobs rather than a single rebound dial, giving genuinely independent tuning. One quirk worth knowing: the small oil passages in the valving can produce a faint noise as fluid is forced through under big hits – this is normal behaviour, not a fault, and the design is built to shrug off circuit bumps without complaint.

Fitment for the BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6 (2004-2010)

This kit is built specifically for the M6 version of the E63 coupe and E64 convertible, covering the 2004 to 2010 production run. The application is the S85-powered M6 chassis – confirm your car is the M6 rather than a standard 6 Series before ordering, as the spring and damper rates are matched to the M6’s weight and geometry.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
