XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL 2018-2026

The G20’s CLAR platform gave BMW a stiffer, lighter shell than the F30 it replaced, but the trade-off is a chassis that still leans on relatively soft factory damping to keep ride comfort intact across four-cylinder 320i and six-cylinder M340i variants alike. Push either one hard into a fast corner and the standard setup runs out of control long before the chassis does, especially once you start loading the nose on turn-in or transferring weight onto the xDrive front axle under trail-braking.

XYZ Racing’s Racing Spec coilover is built for exactly that scenario: repeated hot laps and time-attack sessions where body control has to stay consistent from the first lap to the last, not just hold up for one quick blast down a B-road.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2026 BMW 3 Series

Fitted to a G20, the Racing Spec kit tightens body control through direction changes and keeps the front axle loaded predictably when you’re trail-braking into apexes, which matters more on the 2WD 330i than most owners expect given how much the standard car already leans on electronics to mask roll. On xDrive cars the extra unsprung mass at the front only makes damping quality more important, and the stiffer valving here keeps that added weight from washing the nose wide mid-corner. Ride height is fully adjustable, so you can drop the centre of gravity to suit a circuit setup without touching factory geometry limits, and the damper response is tuned to load progressively rather than spike, which is what lets you carry more speed through a chicane on cold tyres.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed this damper directly from its involvement in WTCC competition, and the valving in the Racing Spec line reflects settings pulled from that programme rather than a road kit turned up a notch. For G20 owners running genuinely aggressive builds – wider wheels, aero, bigger brakes – XYZ Racing can also produce a bespoke shock absorber rather than the standard-spec unit: send over the full list of what’s been upgraded on the car along with the circuit you intend to run, and the damper can be built around that specific combination instead of a generic track preset. That custom-build route exists because a heavily modified M340i and a lightly modified 320i don’t behave the same way on track, and a one-size damper curve leaves performance on the table for either.

Fitment for the BMW 3 Series G20 (2018-2026)

This kit is built for the G20-generation 3 Series, chassis code BM106, covering both 2WD and 4WD (xDrive) drivetrains across the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine range from 2018 through 2026. Confirm your exact drivetrain and cylinder count against your V5 before ordering, since the 2WD and xDrive front-axle hardware differ enough to need matched components.
