XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2018-2026

On loose gravel, the G20 3 Series carries more weight over its axles than any 3 Series before it, and that mass transfers hard through the suspension the instant a stage surface changes from packed dirt to washboard ruts. On the 4/6-cylinder xDrive cars that weight sits above a driveline already working to put power down on sand, shale or snow, which is exactly the brief the XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built around: a damper aimed at cars competing on gravel stages and rallycross events rather than tarmac time attack.

Across both 2WD and 4WD BM107 variants, this kit replaces the standard road-biased setup with a long-travel, inverted-tube design intended to take repeated high-speed compressions without the spring or shaft losing composure partway through a stage. It’s a specialist part for a specialist discipline, not a dual-purpose road-and-track compromise.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2026 Bmw 3 Series G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL (Modified Rr Integrated)

The long stroke and long spring give the G20’s suspension somewhere to go when a rut or compression arrives without warning, soaking up vibration through the chassis instead of transmitting it straight into the modified rear-integrated mounting points. That matters on a car this heavy: the extra wheel travel keeps the tyre in contact with the ground over broken surfaces where a shorter-travel road coilover would simply top or bottom out. The inverted-tube construction is there to cope with the terrain switching underneath you mid-stage, from sandstone to standing water to loose silt, without the damping character changing with it. Under hard cornering loads on loose surfaces the kit is built to bear the G-force spikes that come from catching a slide rather than avoiding one, which is the load case a gravel car sees on almost every corner.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the road surface is more punishing than anything a circuit or fast-road car will see. The inverted-tube layout was chosen to deal with the surface changing underneath the car within a single stage – sandstone, snow and silt all load the damper differently, and the construction is built to keep working across all three rather than being tuned for one. Long stroke and long spring travel let the chassis absorb vibration from repeated high-speed compressions and rebounds instead of passing it through to the body and subframe, and the whole package is built to take extreme G-force loading when the car is turning hard on a loose surface. Spring rates are not a desk exercise here: XYZ’s rally racing team has tested and set them directly from stage running, which is the baseline this kit ships with.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL (Modified Rr Integrated) (2018-2026)

This kit is built for the BM107 chassis code covering G20-generation 3 Series cars from 2018 to 2026, across both 2WD and 4WD (xDrive) drivetrains and 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants. It uses a modified, rear-integrated mounting arrangement rather than a direct bolt-in rear setup, so fitment assumes that modification is either already present or being carried out alongside installation.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
