XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES F87 M2 Competition 2018-2021

The F87 M2 Competition’s S55 lump arrived with 405bhp, a quicker steering rack and stiffer engine mounts than the standard M2 – and the factory chassis still leaves work on the table once you start stringing laps together. The standard adaptive dampers cope on the road; on a hot circuit, with the diff loaded and the rear axle digging in under power, they run out of vocabulary by lap three.

The XYZ Racing Circuit Master is built for exactly that scenario. This is the coilover for owners who treat their M2 Competition as a weekend track tool first and a road car second, and who want a damper that holds its shape across a full 20-minute session at somewhere like Bedford or Cadwell.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2021 Bmw 2 Series F87 M2 Competition

Drop the front end and the M2 Competition’s nose-led understeer at turn-in starts to unwind – the front tyre takes the load earlier and the rear can rotate cleanly on a trailed brake. The Circuit Master’s 9720 adjustment combinations let you separate low-speed body control from high-speed compliance, which is exactly the split this car needs: stiff enough through Druids, supple enough to survive the kerbs at Brands. Brake stability into Paddock Hill is the gain you feel first; the second is throttle traction out of slower corners, where the standard car’s diff and dampers fight each other under load.

Set up properly, the car sits flatter through fast direction changes and stops bobbing on the rear axle when the S55 dumps torque after an upshift. The Active M Differential finally has a platform that doesn’t move underneath it.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the top of the XYZ range, alongside their Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds, and it has been developed through XYZ’s own race teams running fixtures on circuits worldwide. The headline number is 9720 – the total span of damping permutations across the three adjustment knobs, which separate compression and rebound across low and high shaft speeds. That granularity is the point: a track damper that can’t isolate the slow input from the fast input ends up being a compromise on both.

The small-oil-passage design that delivers this fine control has one honest side-effect – across heavy road imperfections you may hear a faint tick from oil moving through the restricted passage. On a circuit, where this damper is intended to live, the surface is consistent enough that the behaviour disappears. This is a circuit damper sold as a circuit damper, not a road coilover rebadged.

Fitment for the Bmw 2 SERIES F87 M2 Competition (2018-2021)

Engineered for the F87 M2 Competition chassis (BM82-1), 2018-2021 production. This is the S55-engined Competition variant specifically – confirm your build year against the year span before ordering, as the standard F87 M2 (N55) is a separate fitment.
