XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Audi RS3 SEDAN 8V φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2013-2020

The RS3 Sedan’s 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder sits nose-heavy over a quattro driveline, a layout that punishes soft, compliant suspension the moment tarmac gives way to loose surface. For a gravel-stage or rallycross build on the 8V RS3, XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover replaces that road-biased setup with a suspension built for repeated hard compressions over rough, unpredictable ground rather than smooth cornering loads.

This kit is made for the AU63-coded RS3 Sedan with the rear end modified for integrated coilover mounting, a departure from the factory multi-link layout that most road-biased coilovers simply can’t bolt to. It has one job: keep the wheels tracking the ground when that ground is sand, snow, or broken stone instead of asphalt.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2020 Audi RS3 Sedan

Fitted to the RS3 Sedan, this coilover changes how the car absorbs the violent, repeated inputs of a gravel stage. The long-stroke damper and matching long spring give the wheel far more travel than a tarmac-biased kit allows, so compressions over ruts and washboard sections don’t slam straight through to the chassis the way they would on standard-length RS3 running gear. That extra stroke matters twice over here, because the quattro system already loads the rear axle hard under power out of loose-surface corners, and a shock built to bear that kind of G-force keeps the car planted instead of skipping sideways. Across sand or silt sections the inverted tube layout also resists the heat and debris ingress that flatten strut-type dampers, so control doesn’t fade mid-stage as the surface underneath the RS3 keeps changing.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Gravel Rally line specifically for rally and rallycross competition, where the road surface, whether sand, snow or loose stone, is the most demanding condition any of its coilovers has to survive. The design starts with an inverted tube damper body, oriented so the wider tube takes the brunt of side-loading and thrown debris rather than the thinner rod underneath it. Stroke length and spring length are both extended well past a road or track kit’s spec, giving the damper room to soak up chassis vibration and hard, high-speed bump inputs without bottoming out or slapping the shock straight into the body. Every spring rate offered across the range has been set through actual competition running by XYZ Racing’s own rally team, rather than calculated on a bench, so the rates reflect what a car needs to get through a full stage, not just survive one hard hit.

Fitment for the Audi RS3 SEDAN (2013-2020)

This kit fits the AU63-chassis Audi RS3 Sedan built between 2013 and 2020, specifically the version with the rear end modified for integrated coilover mounting rather than the standard factory rear subframe. Check your RS3 matches this rear-end configuration before ordering, since the mounting points differ from an unmodified 8V rear end.

Pick the Gravel Rally spring rate that suits your stage conditions and build yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
