XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Alfa Romeo 145 TS 1994-2001

The 145 TS is a front-driven Italian hot hatch with the Twin Spark four up front and the chassis manners of a car designed by people who clearly drove their development mules hard. The standard setup leans on its outside front under load, the inside rear gets light through a quick direction change, and the ride that felt characterful in 1996 now feels under-damped by modern standards. The Super Sport coilover is the answer for owners who want to keep this car relevant on a 2026 B-road without losing what made them buy a 145 TS in the first place.

For fast-road duties in a 145 TS – the kind of drive that takes in a damp Welsh A-road on Saturday and a Sunday cars-and-coffee – the Super Sport sits in the right place in the XYZ range. It is the all-rounder. Not the stripped-back circuit option, not the show-stance compromise, but the spec that earns its keep across the use-cases an Alfa owner actually has.

What this coilover does for your 1994-2001 Alfa Romeo 145 TS

Lower the ride height to a usable degree and the 145 TS visually settles onto its arches, but the gains under your hands matter more. Body roll through the second-gear hairpins this car was made for is reined in, so the front end commits when you ask it to instead of taking a moment to roll, set, and then bite. Independent height adjustment at each corner lets you correct the slight nose-up rake these cars wear after thirty years of tired OE springs. The 36-way damping range covers a soft setting for cobbled town centres and a firmer click for the back roads, without the head-toss you get from a one-size-fits-all lowering spring on worn dampers. Brake feel improves too, because the front end stops diving into the bump stops on heavy entries.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport is XYZ Racing’s fast-road and occasional-track coilover, sitting one step above the entry Street range and below the dedicated circuit kits. Construction is a monotube damper in a CNC-machined alloy body, with a separate spring perch so ride height and spring preload are set independently – the correct way to drop a car without binding the damper stroke. Damping is adjustable across 36 clicks on a single combined bump-and-rebound knob, which keeps setup honest for a road-biased owner who is not chasing data-logger tenths. Spring rates are matched to the 145 TS’s modest kerb weight and the Twin Spark’s relatively soft front-end behaviour. Each kit is built to order, in Taiwan, by the same operation that supplies XYZ kits across the European motorsport aftermarket.

Fitment for the Alfa Romeo 145 TS (1994-2001)

This kit is built for the 145 TS chassis with the Twin Spark four-cylinder, covering the 1994 launch cars through to the end of production in 2001. Front struts and rear shock-and-spring assemblies are sized to the original 145 hardpoints, so installation uses the factory top mounts and lower bushes.
