Caliper render for this kit:

At somewhere north of 1,600kg with 276bhp pushing through an AWD system, the final-series GTO places serious thermal demands on its front axle under sustained deceleration. The factory front setup was properly specified for road use when these cars were new, but a quarter-century later, owners running their GTOs hard at track days or on high-speed road events regularly find the original hardware approaching its working limits.
This XYZ Racing Hollow Front Brake Kit for the 1997-2001 Mitsubishi 3000GT (GTO) gives that front axle the reserve it needs. It is a front-axle upgrade, a matched pair of left and right front calipers and discs that replaces the OE front setup. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, configure the same kit for daily commuting, spirited fast-road use or full circuit duty without sourcing separate components.
What this brake kit does for your 1997-2001 Mitsubishi 3000GT (GTO)
All that AWD mass decelerating at full load puts significant heat into the front brakes, and the 3000GT’s weight distribution loads the nose hard under braking, so the fronts carry the majority of the stopping burden. The hollow-vane disc construction pulls heat out of the disc body far faster than a solid rotor, holding the bite consistent across a sequence of braking zones, while the lighter rotor trims rotating and unsprung mass off the front axle. Street is the quiet, low-dust road default that keeps cold-bite behaviour for daily use. Sport adds bite and heat range for fast-road work and the odd track day. Racing shifts the calibration toward sustained high-temperature consistency, right for circuit use where heavy braking zones are the norm. Caliper colour is included at no extra cost in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, suiting concours-adjacent restorations and individual builds alike.
About the Hollow brake kit
The Hollow is XYZ Racing’s front-axle brake upgrade, built for cars where the original hardware runs out of headroom under hard or repeated use. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, and discs are two-piece floating units available drilled or slotted at the same price, plumbed on braided lines for a firm, repeatable pedal. Three pad grades span the use-case range: Street for road-biased owners who want a considered upgrade, Sport for those pushing harder while retaining everyday civility, and Racing for circuit applications where brake-temperature management is the priority. For serious track use an optional Hollow Racing caliper upgrade is offered, run without a dust cover, rated to 1000C and backed by a two-year warranty. Caliper finish is included in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, with a Custom Color to any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. For GTO owners, sourcing quality brake components is increasingly a challenge as the final-series cars enter genuine classic territory; a coherent kit spec simplifies the decision considerably.
Fitment for the Mitsubishi 3000GT (GTO) (1997-2001)
This front brake kit covers the Mitsubishi 3000GT (GTO) across the full 1997 to 2001 production run, encompassing both the Twin Turbo AWD and naturally aspirated variants of the final Z-platform series. Buyers should confirm their car falls within the 1997-2001 year span before ordering; earlier chassis variants from the preceding series are not covered by this fitment.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
