XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF R MK7 4WD φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2012-2020

The Golf R MK7’s Haldex-based 4WD system only sends drive to the rear axle once it detects front-axle slip, which makes throttle-on rotation predictable once the ride height and damping are locked down rather than left on the factory’s adaptive settings – exactly what controlled drifting needs. This Pro Racing Drift Spec kit is built for that job: it replaces the car’s electronic adaptive damping with a fixed set-up you control at the strut, so the chassis settles into an angle instead of hunting for one mid-slide.

This φ55-body, cancellation-kit specification is matched to the MK7’s modified rear-integrated hardware, meaning the electronic damper wiring is bypassed cleanly rather than left dangling or throwing warning lights. It is built for circuit and drift-day use on the Golf R, not fast-road commuting.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Volkswagen Golf R MK7

Lowering the Golf R with the correct bump stroke changes how the car loads its outside front tyre through the transition into a slide – the MK7’s Haldex coupling reacts faster once the chassis stops wallowing on soft factory springs. The 3-knob damping adjustment lets you separate compression and rebound characteristics front to rear, which matters on a 4WD car where the rear axle only picks up torque after slip is detected – you want the rear settling quickly without the front pushing wide. Cancelling the electronic damper circuit also removes the ECU’s habit of stiffening or softening mid-corner on its own, so the car behaves the same way on every pass down the straight and into the next entry.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

The Pro Racing Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s drift-specific build, designed to keep the car’s body flat and stable through high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a clean angle rather than fight for one. Ride height drops using a bump stroke calculated for the platform, which is what actually improves drift control rather than simply dropping the car for looks. Damping is metered through 3 external knobs, each running oil through a small-bore passage – on rough circuit surfaces that can produce a faint noise under compression, which is normal and not a fault. The kit is built specifically for circuit track use, where kerbs and surface irregularities are part of the job rather than something the suspension needs isolating from.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Golf R MK7 (2012-2020)

Fits the Volkswagen Golf R MK7, chassis code VO20-12-C, built 2012 to 2020. Specified for the 4WD φ55 strut body in the modified rear-integrated configuration with the electronic-damping cancellation kit, for cars originally fitted with factory adaptive dampers.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
