XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK7 φ50 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2012-2020

The MK7 Golf’s multi-link rear axle gives XYZ Racing something to actually tune, and on cars fitted with VW’s factory adaptive damping this Circuit Master kit ships with the electronic-damping cancellation hardware needed to run manual coilovers instead of fighting the factory DCC control unit. That matters on a chassis where the rear end does more of the cornering work than the torsion-beam Golfs further down the range – get the rear rates wrong here and the front just understeers through it.

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s sustained lap-time platform for the MK7, built for drivers doing repeated flying laps rather than the odd trackday sighting lap. It’s the coilover to fit if the car is going back out session after session and the damping needs to hold its character throughout.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Volkswagen GOLF MK7 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension)

Fit this kit and the multi-link rear geometry becomes something you set up around your own driving, not VW’s factory ride-comfort brief. The 3-knob, 9720-way damping adjustment gives independent control over compression and rebound at each corner, so you can stiffen the rear under trail-braking without making the front end nervous over kerbs. Ride height drops and stays adjustable independently of spring preload, which matters on a car where the standard DCC-equipped setup won’t let you get low without the electronics fighting you. Once the cancellation kit is fitted, the car stops trying to second-guess your damping choices and starts responding to them directly.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s range, built specifically for circuit driving rather than fast-road comfort, and it’s developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams on international circuits rather than just bench-tested. Each damper carries 3 external adjustment knobs feeding a claimed 9720 combinations of compression and rebound settings, enough range to retune the car between a damp club circuit and a dry, high-grip trackday without changing parts. The knobs work through a small-orifice oil-passage design; on a rough section of track or a heavy kerb strike you may hear a faint noise through the damper as oil moves through that passage – that’s the design doing its job, not a fault. It’s monotube construction aimed squarely at drivers doing repeat flying laps, where the damping needs to hold its character through a full session rather than just the opening lap.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK7 φ50 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2012-2020)

This kit is coded VO20-1-C for the Volkswagen Golf Mk7, covering the 2012-2020 production run fitted with the φ50 multi-link rear axle. It’s specifically the cancellation-kit variant, built for cars specced with VW’s factory electronic (DCC) damping that needs to be bypassed before a manual coilover can take over control of the rear.
