XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Subaru IMPREZA GDB STI D-F (PCD: 5 X 114.3) 4WD 2005-2007

The GDB STI’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive layout and DCCD-controlled centre diff were built to put power down in a straight line and through fast, grippy corners, which makes it an unusual base for drift work. The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover exists for exactly that mismatch – it re-tunes how the D-F chassis loads and unloads through a slide instead of leaving the car to correct itself back onto line. Ride height drops with a proper bump stroke retained, so the car settles into an angle rather than pogoing out of one.

For competitive drifting, that difference shows up the moment you transition from entry into a long, held slide – weight has to move predictably front to rear and side to side, and the EJ25’s rear-biased torque split needs a platform underneath it that will not fight the throttle. This kit is built around that brief, not fast-road comfort or gravel-stage compliance.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2007 Subaru IMPREZA GDB STI D-F (PCD: 5 X 114.3) 4WD

Three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound rates front and rear, so you can firm up initial turn-in without punishing the car everywhere else on track. That control is what lets the GDB hold body stability through high-speed direction changes and initial weight transfer, instead of the nose diving and unsettling the rear the way it can on the factory dampers. Because the D-F’s all-wheel-drive system keeps torque at all four corners mid-slide, predictable damping at both axles matters more here than on a rear-drive drift car – lift-off alone will not get you sideways. Lowering the ride height on this kit is done with the bump stroke properly retained, so you get a lower centre of gravity for faster direction changes without the suspension bottoming out over kerbs and circuit surface changes.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec line specifically around drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit-lapping coilover for the job. The internal valving is set up to keep the car’s body settled through high-speed direction changes, which is what lets a driver hold and control a drift angle instead of the chassis snapping back to grip. Three external adjustment knobs give separate control over compression and rebound, using a small-oil-hole internal design to manage flow rates at the kind of shaft speeds a sustained slide generates. One side effect of that small-passage design is a faint noise when the damper is worked hard over big bumps or kerbs – that is the oil moving through the restricted passage doing its job, not a fault, and it is expected on a coilover built for circuit and drift-track surfaces rather than daily-road comfort.

Fitment for the Subaru IMPREZA GDB STI D-F (PCD: 5 X 114.3) 4WD (2005-2007)

This kit is built for the GDB-chassis Impreza STI D-F, 4WD, produced from 2005 to 2007, matched to the 5 x 114.3 PCD used across this generation. Confirm your STI is the D-F revision before ordering, as spring rates and mounting points are matched to this specific chassis code and year span.

Spec is everything on a drift car built around AWD torque delivery rather than rear-drive slip angle – configure yours below to match this GDB STI D-F.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
