XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Seat LEON 5F φ50 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2012-2026

The 5F Leon’s multi-link rear axle only ever left Martorell fitted to the higher-output Cupra-spec cars, and on those cars it came paired with electronically controlled dampers as standard. That pairing is exactly what this Tarmac Rally coilover is built to replace. The cancellation kit removes the factory DCC control loop from the equation entirely, so the rear axle’s geometry advantage over the torsion-beam Leons lower in the range can be tuned mechanically instead of through a software map.

For a car built for sealed-stage tarmac rally work, that matters. Crests, mid-corner compressions and hard direction changes on closed tarmac stages load a multi-link rear axle very differently to a strut-and-beam setup, and this kit gives the Leon a damper that responds to that loading directly rather than through an electronic controller reading road-speed sensors.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2026 Seat LEON

With the electronic damping system cancelled out, the Tarmac Rally kit puts full control of ride height, spring preload and compression/rebound balance back with the driver or the setup crew between stages. On the MQB-based 5F platform, that means you can drop the centre of gravity and firm up body control without fighting a factory damper controller that was tuned for road comfort, not stage pace. The damper is calibrated to absorb the impact of broken and uneven tarmac rather than transmitting it straight into the chassis, so the multi-link rear stays loaded and working instead of skipping over mid-corner bumps. That keeps the contact patch working through compressions and crests, which on a sealed stage translates directly into more usable tyre traction under braking and on corner exit. The net result on the Leon is a car that holds its line through a sequence of direction changes rather than wallowing on the factory-soft DCC calibration, with the front end staying settled enough to trust on turn-in at stage speed.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally line is built specifically to deal with the surface reality of closed-road stage work: tarmac that’s rarely as smooth as a circuit and frequently broken, patched or cambered. The damper is tuned to soak up the impact of that uneven surface, and specifically to absorb the jolt when the car crosses a larger bump or compression, so the shock body isn’t left to transmit that hit straight into the chassis. Suppressing that shock loading is what keeps the tyre’s contact patch doing its job instead of skipping, and it’s what gives the car the vehicle stability a rally crew actually wants through a fast stage rather than outright softness. The damping settings built into this range come out of XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, carried over from stage-tested calibration rather than derived from a road-going baseline. Construction follows the rest of the XYZ Racing coilover range, with the added electronic-cancellation hardware specific to this Leon 5F fitment so the kit bolts in place of the factory DCC dampers without leaving the car’s ECU hunting for a signal that no longer exists.

Fitment for the Seat LEON (2012-2026)

This kit is built for the Seat LEON 5F fitted with the φ50 multi-link rear suspension, covering the 2012-2026 production run, and is specifically the modified rear-integrated version with the cancellation kit for electronic damping. Confirm your car has the multi-link rear axle and factory electronic damper control before ordering, as the standard torsion-beam Leon uses a different rear-end configuration entirely.
