XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan FAIRLADY Z RZ34 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2022-2026

Loose surface changes everything about how a car needs to move. The RZ34 Fairlady Z’s independent rear end has to soak up compression hits from ruts and washboard gravel while the driver is still committing to a line at speed, and a road-biased damper simply can’t keep the tyre in contact with the ground long enough to do that. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built specifically for that brief.

This is a stage damper, not a fast-road spring upgrade. It’s aimed at drivers running the Fairlady Z on gravel stages or rallycross events where the surface is inconsistent from one corner to the next and the suspension has to absorb repeated big hits without losing composure.

What this coilover does for your 2022-2026 Nissan Fairlady Z

The long stroke and long spring combination gives the rear axle room to move before it runs out of travel, which matters on a chassis like the RZ34 where weight transfer under hard braking into a gravel corner can be abrupt. Instead of the suspension bottoming out over compressions, the extended travel lets the tyre track the surface and keep generating grip through the bump. The inverted tube damper design is built to keep working as conditions shift mid-stage – sandstone one corner, silt or standing snow the next – rather than needing a single road-condition compromise. On the modified rear-integrated version fitted to this chassis, that construction also has to withstand sustained high-frequency inputs from bouncy, broken ground without the damping fading, and cope with the extreme G-force loading the Fairlady Z’s chassis sees turning in in a rally environment. The result on the car is a rear end that stays settled and predictable when the surface underneath it isn’t.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally line was developed specifically for rally and rallycross use, where road surface conditions are the most aggressive a damper will ever see. The inverted tube layout is a deliberate response to that variability – it’s designed to keep working consistently whether the stage is loose sandstone, packed snow or fine silt, rather than favouring one surface at the expense of another. The long-stroke, long-spring architecture exists to absorb chassis vibration and take the hit from high-speed bouncy roads without transmitting that shock straight into the chassis or the driver. It also has to bear the extreme cornering G-force that comes with committed stage driving, not just vertical compression. Spring rate selections in this range aren’t generic road-car numbers – they’ve been set and tested by a rally racing team, which is a different calibration exercise to tuning for a smooth circuit surface.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
